Hi all,
Is there any bestiary out there with monsters found per zone and their levels? I know flamestryke has a complete monster list, it just doesn't categorize monsters by zone. I want to change the order I complete the game so that near the end of the game I am still getting challenged by monsters that aren't a waste of my time.

i figure if u got trynton swamp mines bluff then gigas then bayginn though swamp then to the sea baygin shallows then sea caves( i take glumph back fisrt so he does not steal any exp) then back throught the water tunnel to gigas then of the the rapax rift and the moutain wilderness (offoruse i make a vist here some where in the middle for staff of doom and the diamond eyes) then go thought to the peak generally i am still getting challanged

That's about the way I've been doing it. But before Trynton I have been going up to the Umpani Base Camp for a flag, spells, and the first 2 Umpani quests. That way I can play both sides and complete the T'rang quests when I get to the bluffs.

The problem is, I want to go to Mtn. Wilderness for DE/SoD/Bela and get to Ferro as soon as I can for premium gear.

If you think the monsters aren't a challenge then go to areas below the minimum spawn level since then you will get random spawns (same if you are over the maximum spawn level).

i thot all the areas were more or less level based. and that the monsters in each area had a range to suit those levels. i've never yet played thru the game where i didn't get challenged.

Every area has a minimum and a maximum spawn level. I think that for example in the monastery the maximum is around lvl 10. But I usually don't stay in the monastery that long.

Hi everyone!

Thats interesting, dplax, i didn't realy notice it until now. But, are there any areas without a maximum spawn level? The peak, for example? I've read of people training their party up to level 50, this would be quiet impossible only fighting lv. 20 monsters? I think all this about monster levels would be nice to be in a low spoiler walkthrough (it could warn: the rapax area is quite dangerous at lev. 10, but if you really want to try...) But i never found this kind of walkthrough, did anyone else?

There are lvl 50 monsters out there. AFAIK only the peak has not got a maximum level range.

I know the Monastery tops out at a minimum of 14 as I have seen Flesh Eating Slimes in there. While training a lv 10 party, one of them spawned on me in the entrance room as you come up from the beach.

Well, rapax rift and castle are quite doable with a well-balanced level 11 party on expert ironman. If you wait until level 17, you might have more trouble due to high level enemy spellcasters.

No, killerTeddy, i haven't seen any walkthrough like that, but i've also found party make-up to be as important as level; if you can protect yourself from magic well, there's no reason you can't go everywhere as of about L15 in Normal, but, for example, if you don't have Element Shield there are some things that'll hurt you a lot in Mountain Wilderness with Acid, Poison and Fire attacks. There's a lot of variation like that, so it would take a lot of text to map out 'comfort zones'.

Ive considered collating a biestary, but that involves too much work trying to work out exp given...

Actually if you have already killed monsters of that type or have enough mythology then rightclicking on monsters will tell you amongst other things the xp they give.

MasterPooBaa 04-30-2004 12:13 AM

oh yeah i know that. If i did do this i would hack the character so it had 125 mythology then slowly progress through the game.... visiting lots of area's at level 1-5, then going back 5-10 then 10-15 etc.
Find as many critters as possible.

Ive noticed though even with superhigh mythology it doesnt tell u the EXP they give untill you have at leastkilled one of em.

Kinda gets hard to calculate with multiple different guys in combat. (unless u fingt them again later).
