Re: icon sizing
I also bought the Spelljammer set but never used it in play, though I created many a ship and dreamed up all kinds of reasons why my characters would need to go to Waterdeep and would somehow become involved with the Spelljammer crowd. :)
I recall even having a couple of dreams about it. :D |
Re: icon sizing
Yeah, I think I spent lots of afternoons just thinking up ships and so forth... Never could learn all those rules, though (Spelljammer - the campaign for DMs with an INT of 18 or more!)
|
Re: icon sizing
I bet if you played it, you'd make sense of it.
I feel like I understood it, but I wouldn't say that my INT was 18. I would say that in my teen years, my INT was 16 or so, then I went to college and discovered fraternity parties, among other things, and my INT dropped to about, oh, I don't know, 3 or 4. Since then, I've recovered a bit and the INT has slowly climbed back up to about 14, though when compared to my current classmates, I get a relative INT score of 21. :D:D:D |
Re: icon sizing
Damn - 16 to 4, and then back to 14? (Restoration spell?)
Of course, INT = IQ/10... ;) Gary really did make an intriguing system, didn't he? :D (I would put the so-called "EQ" in CHA as opposed to WIS, though...) |
Re: icon sizing
I"ve been thinking about this all day and remembered the INT = IQ / 10 formula and will definitely have to amend my college INT to 3. :) (That would be the first time through, not this time.) During those couple of years my WIS would have been a 3 as well. And since I remember that STR is basically 1 point for every 10 pounds you can military press, we're half way to knowing my stats for college. So, why not figure them the rest of the way out?
manikus in college (15-18 years ago) STR = 18/53 (I could military press 200) INT = 3 WIS = 3 DEX = 11 CON = 12 CHA = 12 Dex- I was very good with bow and arrow and played varsity sports in high school, so had decent reflexes. Con- I got mono my sophomore year, but I never got hang-overs. Cha- Let's just when I'm intoxicated I'm happy and I'm chatty. :) I dated (I would like to think) successfully all throughout college. :D |
Re: icon sizing
Wow - that's some STR! I don't know how much I can military press (or even the difference between a military press and some other press (I thought STR was based on how much you could lift (as in weight while standing - is that what it means?))), but my own stats (in college) would probably be something like:
STR: 9 INT: 15 WIS: 15 :D DEX: 11 CON: 10 CHA: 10 Dex - well, I would say that I am average or so. Con - average again? Cha - I'm not overtly friendly, but I am quite friendly when I have to interact with people :D Wis - well... |
Re: icon sizing
The military press is weight lifted above your head. I went right to the 1e Player's Handbook for that one.
College was a long time ago for me. And putting up the stats for that made me think about my stats now. :D manikus on a good day: STR = 13 INT = 14 WIS = 15 DEX = 9 CON = 10 CHA = 11 Some are up, some are down. :) Such is the way of life. Dex is down to 9 since I got glasses. Str is down b/c I don't weight lift any more. I traded that for yoga a long time ago,and sice school started, I don't even do much of that. :( (Bad manikus) Wis is hard to gauge, but I feel if I put it higher, that is a sure sign that is not as high as I think it is. :D:D:D |
Re: icon sizing
Okay, me on a good day, then:
STR: 9 INT: 15 WIS: 16 DEX: 11 CON: 10 CHA: 10 Ha ha... I just augmented my wisdom a bit (hoping that I am a bit wiser now than before)... Everything else I am essentially the same! So, a military press is while you are standing then? I never even tried that! I think my STR should be several steps lower then... |
Re: icon sizing
You can do a military press sitting or standing, but it's with the torso in a completely upright position.
So, you're smarter and wiser than me. :) OK, you get to run things now. :D:D:D |
Re: icon sizing
Well, those are the stats I would want, at least... WIS is quite a difficult one to judge...
