Mormegil
His eyes were hazed over and his shortness of breath was causing him to not think clearly. He was aware that hands had grabbed him and were pulling him away somewhere. He tried to fight, but had no real control over his limbs. They took him into a darkness, then he heard rattling, a creak and then a terrible green light. They were killing him! In his weakened state, these people were trying to murder him for his money. They would take away his chance to avenge his father's death at the hands of a dragon. They would take the gold for themselves. Frantically, Mormegil squirmed and whined, trying to get free from his attackers. He was able to get one arm free and elbow an attacker in the face, as he also began to shout, "Help me! They're killing me!" |
Plaxica grabbed hold of Coruno and said to him: "Captain I have an ability to shapeshift into an owl. I could follow this woman. She is clearly a very fast swimmer but I could find where she is going and then we could go and get her. I can explain everything later." - With that he jumped off the ship and while sailing in the air his body started to show feathers and just before he fell into the water he lifted his wings and flew across the water towards where he had last seen Rong Er. After he spotted her he circled high above out of range just following her.

ooc>>>dplax...nice post! I like the way you wrote the shift. Keep it up.
|
OOC: thanks Larry.
Partly IC: BTW I forgot to add, but Rong Er could not see my character transform, because he jumped off the other side of the ship, so even if she notices the owl she won't know its me. |
I see, follow her and I will be there shortly, stripping down to just his needed swimmong gear, Corinthian opened his door and stepped into the hallway. Moving quietly but quickly he managed to avoid everyone in the hallway in there comotion and slipped out onto the deck where everyone was a blur of commotion. Saying some words of magic in a low tone he ran for the starboard side of the ship and jumpped over the railing while finishing his incantation. Hitting the water he disappeared bemeath its depths, all that could be seen was a shadow swimming in the direction that the large bird was hovering over.

As Rong Er was swimming at her get away pace she felt something tug at her feet, just as a large bird dived for her head....
ooc: Hope this doesnt seem over powered, let me know |
Karthias
Karthias felt good as he finally managed to clamber onto the ship and get out of the horrid, ice cold water. He hated water, kinda ironic how he was on a ship huh? He thought to himself. As he shook of some of the water, Karthias heard his master shouting "[b]help me!They're killing me" At this sound Karthias started to sprint towards the voice, and on the way tripped over an empty barrel; cursing himself he got up and kept running, regardless of the pain. Quickly he was at his masters side and wondering what was the matter, as far as he could see no one was attacking Mormegil, then he remembered the pins. |
As Plaxica swooped down over Rong Er he saw a shadowy shape slide under her. He had no idea what it could be. And even if she had tried to kill Mormegil he knew he couldn't let her be killed because only she knew what antidote would cure him. So as he would have grabbed hold of her he swerved away shapeshifted while in mid air back into a human swam up to her and tried to tear her away from that unknown shadow.
|
OOC>>>Mormegil is now unconscious with a high fever, which includes sweating and gasping for breath.
|
"Priest, Priest!! We need a priest! Is there one aboard?" For some reason the usually calm and collected karthias started to panick!! "Please help him!, should I run to town and find one?"
ooc>> if Rong Er is the only one to cure Mormegil then my character doesnt know that. |
Rong Er
As she hovered about in the waters, her instincts told her that she was being watched, even if she could not spot anyone directly approaching her. Yet, the sky seemed to suddenly be more inhabited by feathered creatures than usual and it took her five seconds before she realised the situation and considered her next move. Better to just dive again, I suppose. ~ It was then that she felt herself being yanked and heart thumping, she quickly glanced down. There was nothing there! But she knew otherwise. Though her attacker did not seem to want to drown her at any rate, he or she certainly had no intention of letting go of her foot. The thought of the implications of this move infuriated her. No one gets away with insulting me like that! ~ Time seemed to slow for the next few seconds. She saw herself lift her right hand, gripping the three needles with her thumb and slamming her palm down towards the invisible hand. That hideous hand that molested her foot and sent waves of aggravated humiliation washing across her face... [ 01-26-2004, 07:11 PM: Message edited by: mistral4543 ] |
ooc- darn, all the exciting things happen while I'm gone... *pout* ah well, snowboarding was fun
ic- Lyulfe made as if to jump over the edge as well, but Skye quickly grabbed his wrist. He looked at her in consternation. "I've got to do something, I've got to help!" he growled, but the usually cheerful and light-hearted bladebard gave her companion a serious look. "Who are you going to help, Rong Er, or the others following her?" When he looked away, she added gently "We will cause more harm than help out there in the water, because we do not know what to do in the ocean. We are needed here. We can help ease the pain, whether he deserved it or not. What happens to Rong Er will be up to the Fates." The tall elf's shoulders slumped slightly, and he turned back to face Skye. "You're right, for once. And now would be a very inopportune time to reveal..." he trailed off. The bladebard nodded knowingly, and the two went to Morgemil's cabin where he lay unconscious and breathing heavily. One of the sailors were nursing a bruised face. "We can help ease his suffering and give him dreamless sleep, but you will have to leave the room for us to perform well," Skye addressed the others. "You may stand outside the door if you wish, but do not come in unless I say, no matter what you hear. When one is poisoned and ill, they do not know what they speak," she addressed Morgemil's bodyguard. Lyulfe slipped out of the room and quickly returned with Skye's harp in hand. "Thank you. If we're lucky, Lyulfe and I may be able to stave off the spread of the poison, but I have to find out more about the poison first," she continued, then waited for a response to her offer of help. |
Calarlyth wasn't amused. So far he had been standing next to Skye, and when everyone ignored him, he walked over to the other end of the ship, at the prow. He was happy that no-one was paying him any attention, however. His dragonet murmured in his mind, "How long will it be until this is over?", Ary asked mournfully. "I don't know..." Cal whispered back, his eyes distant. The dragonet just nuzzled his master's neck, his nose tickling the elf slightly. Calarylth just smiled, somewhat sadly. He hoped the rest of the trip would not be like this...

feeling the sting of the needles in his hand, Corinthian grabbed on with his left hand and tugged on Rong Er hard, pulling her under the water's surface. If I am to die here I will take this welp with me into the depths Fighting against the rising burning pain of the poison Corinthian kept diving against the struggling girls punch's and repeated stabs.

The large albatrose was mildly annoyed with the owl and pecked at its head as the owl came in.... |
Plaxica saw the shadowy shape dragging Rong Er down towards deeper waters. He grabbed Rong Er's hand, shifted back into an owl shook himself once and then with powerful strokes of his wings he tried to lift her to the surface.
OOC: my character thinks that she is the only one to save Mormegil so he will keep trying. |
Rong Er
Spluttering amidst the choppy waves, she scowled as she felt the invisible hand continuing on its death grip on her right foot while her left hand was now painfully gripped by the tentacles of a swooping owl. Each force seemed to be challenging the other, herself being the prize. In a flash, she raised her right hand and plucked out an intricately designed hair ornament. At the next opportunity, when her head was up above the water, she inhaled deeply... and plunged herself into the water, her left hand yanking the owl down into the water and her right hand shoving the piercing edge fiercely at what was most likely to be the invisible person's chest. Father, I will see again in my next life... ~ Spending the last few ounces of her strength and consciousness, she stabbed and pulled repeatedly... |
Even against the strokes of his powerful wings Plaxica got pulled underwater. With his free claw he clawed at the hand which was pulling him down. Sensing the grip become slightly weaker he shapeshifted back into a human and kicked down with his feet. As he reached the surface he took a deep breath. He saw the stuggle continue down below him. He decided that he could not free Rong Er from the hands of that shadowy creature. He decided to wait out who the winner would be. He tried shapeshifting into an owl so that he would be able to circle above, but because of all of the water on his wings he could not fly so he remained in his human form and swam about 10 meters away from the battle and started to wait.
|
OOC>>>Man but this is getting rather chaotically exciting, eh? I wonder what the DM thinks of all this? Can't wait to see who lives and who drowns.

ooc:
Im gonna assume that I am going to drown to the effects of the poison ;) |
OOC>>> She's just going to pass out after all the exertion, you know So, I'm not posting for her. I guess next move is dplax's. The question is, who does he save first? ;)
|
OOC: You give me a really hard decision to make.
IC: Plaxica saw that both of the combattants were going to go down. He did not know who or what that shadowy shape was. He had the decision to make of who he was going to save. Even if that shadow was another human being if he saved Rong Er that would probably also help him to save Mormegil. So with his decision made he dived down, grabbed hold of the now unconscious Rong Er, brought her to the surface and started pulling her towards the boat, holding her with one hand and swimming rather clumsily with the other. OOC: Sorry Elif, but my character did not know it was you, if he knew he probably would have rescued him. |
ooc:
No worries, water breathing is a beautiful thing, if the poison doesnt kill me in an hour lack of being able to breath wil, hehe |
ooc- *drumroll* Don't worry, I'll save you! *heroic voice*
ic- Lyulfe strode out of the room while Skye continued to wait patiently for an answer. "Did you bring the wizard back too?" he asked the bedraggled man pulling Rong Er after him. After helping the two onto the boat and making sure they were okay, he scanned the water, then dived in, heading in the direction the two had come. ooc- I'm gonna save you! No fun in killing off everyone :( |
ooc:
Yea :D Skye to my rescue. Where has the GM gotten off to ? |
ooc- sorry about the somewhat crappy post. I was rushed because the bell had rung, and I didn't want to be late to class.
*skye stands and gathers dust while mormegil expires* ic- Lyulfe continued to swim doggedly on, while cursing himself. He had forgotten that he wasn't the best of swimmers. Luckily, he spotted a strange trail of bubbles floating to the surface not too far out and, on a leap of faith, dived into the depths to the source. He grasped at the shadowy figure and slowly pulled the two of them to the surface, his lungs screaming for air. The elf checked his companion and was relieved to see that he, although very faint, was indeed breathing. "Now to doggy-paddle all the way back to the ship," he said aloud, his sardonic humour not dampened by the water, unlike the rest of him. "Once this mess is dealt with, I'm going to have someone give Skye and me swimming lessons. This is ridiculous," he continued to mutter under his breath while treading water and trying to keep both himself and his unconscious companion above water. EDIT- accursed thing, grammar be thy name. *scowl* [ 01-30-2004, 09:13 PM: Message edited by: Skydracgrrl ] |
OOC>>> Of course there isn't fun killing people off The poison isn't that lethal; if it were her dad who had administered it, that would be something else ;) Well, I do hope some of you did enjoy the change in pace of the game... I just thought to spice things up a bit :D
IC>>> Rong Er Her body drifted limply as it continued to be dragged towards the ship by Plaxica. She remained unconscious, although there was an occasional twitch that could be detected by the keenest observer, behind her eyelids. Her ashen face belied the herculean effort she had exerted before succumbing to her physical limitations, and her breathing was shallow, at best. From time to time, a sliver of fluid glided down the sides of her closed mouth. It seemed an eternity before her seemingly lifeless body was hauled up back onto the ship by some of the scowling inhabitants... |
ooc- I guess I'll just continue Lyulfe's mini-adventure, while Skye continues to wait for a response from the captain...
ic- After what seemed an eternity of burning muscles and dog-paddling, Lyulfe wearily hauled himself up over the edge of the boat, pulling the wizard after him. He carried the wet creature to Mormegil's room and set him down nearby. "Another poisoned creature to tend to," he told Skye in response to her raised eyebrow. "Let me know if we are given permission to try and help them," he said over his shoulder as he strode out. Once out of sight he hurried over to the limp figure that was Rong Er. Upon glimpsing her face he picked her up and strode to the crew's room, where his and Skye's beds were. "Now this looks familiar," he murmured to himself as he looked at the prone figure once again tucked under the sheets in his bed. He reached out to tuck a strand of hair back, but froze and retreated his hand when Rong Er stirred. His face was blank, but Lyulfe was unable to hide the concern from his eyes. |
OOC>>> Larry, I've left a note for you at our cosy little hut Rest - I need to be off rather soon, if I'm not around, can either Larry or Skye drag her around or just assume she's fallen asleep again?
IC>>> Rong Er At first there was a blurriness... then the shades of white, grey and green weaved themselves, dancing about... she closed her eyes, breathing through her mouth. A strand of hair was bothering her, but she found to her dismay that so weak was she, she could barely lift her hand to remove the offending object. By then, the kaleidoscope of colours had morphed into recognisable shapes. Wall, chest of drawers... Lyulfe. A self-deprecating smile found its way to her pale face as she laid there, watching him peacefully and not saying another word. [ 01-31-2004, 07:26 PM: Message edited by: mistral4543 ] |
ooc- Lyulfe will tend to your character for you, no worries about that ;) we'll just assume she's very sickly until you are able to post freely again ^^;
"Are you alright?" Lyulfe asked in a worried voice. "No, of course you're not alright," he answered his own question with sarcasm, then looked back at Rong Er. "There was no real need to jump off the ship like that," he said gruffly. "We could have figured something out without having to result to something that drastic." His harsh words were softened, however, when he gently brushed back the offending hair from her forehead. He paused, then abruptly stood up. "I'll, er, see if I can get some help from Skye," Lyulfe said, then walked to the door. At the threshold he stopped again, as if having an internal struggle. He swiveled back around and sat at the foot of the bed. "I'm going to help you fall into a healing sleep," he said to Rong Er gently. From his throat a beautiful song poured out, in a strange language that Rong Er could not understand, yet it soothed and calmed her as the elf continued to sing, his eyes flashing an odd shade of violet. For a moment his body seemed to shimmer and waver into a different form... but perhaps it was merely Rong Er's tired mind that tricked her. |
Occ:Sorry I have been living at my grandmom the last week and she does not have internet and I have not been able to be online.
ICC:When the bodygaurd came they fastly closed the door to the room they where taking him into. Why did he yell...did hw not understand we are the only ones who can help him? To late now. they took him to the cabin where the elf started to pamper whit him. Coruno and hima went up to the deck just to sea the wizard getting draged up and rong er being lifted down to her cabin. he walked over to komo and rumbin. i thought I asked you two to jump in and take the girl?is there a reason why you did not obeay? no diffrenc you are both being assigend of this ship today He walk back to hima and started talk to him. RUMBIN he cant do that? can he? I knew the girl was trouble, its the elfs fault They have sickend the mind of coruno, and by the way that girl only deserved it. |
Rong Er
It was all words, all images, then a torrent of mesmerising song before her, bombarding her failing senses as she rested against the soft pillow, fighting against the sandman and trying to focus her attention on Lyulfe. I mustn't... ~ Her head nodded, then jerked back as her eyelids raised momentarily ~ ... what was it I mustn't? ~ She felt her limbs falling asleep, snoring gently against the snug blankets and beckoning her to give in ~ ... I've got to stay awake... ~ To her dreamy mortification, she found herself yawning aloud ~ ... why do I need to, anyway?... I... danger... ~ Half-mumbling, she found her mouth opening again. This time the pull was so strong, she knew she was losing the battle. "... don't need...(yawn)... sleep..." In her last moment of consciousness, she thought she saw a flare of brilliant colours. Then, all was darkness. EDITED: To remove repetitive words "she thought". Look at me, Im a limp pickle :D |
ooc- *pokes the limp pickle* eww, kill it
ic- Once he was sure that Rong Er was fast asleep, Lyulfe sung a song of protection over her. With everyone seemingly out to get her, it wouldn't be safe to leave her in this vulnerable state. He glanced down at his hands and stifled an exclamation. His hands were covered with flesh-coloured scales, and his nails had grown longer and sharper. After concentrating for a moment, he glanced down at his hands again and sighed in relief. He looked normal again. Lyulfe got up and strode to the door, testing the protection song he had weaved. After nodding in approval, he walked back to Mormegil's room, pausing only for a moment as he overheard Rumbin. Lyulfe continued on determinedly. This bodes ill for the travel... It's a good thing I set up that connection with Rong Er... he thought to himself before stepping into the room. "Well, are we going to do this or not?" Lyulfe asked with impatience. Skye raised an eyebrow but said nothing. She knew his worry was distracting him. |
Mormegil
Morm woke up, and looked around. He was lying on his back, and felt as though he had a hangover. He could feel the beads of sweat trickling down his forehead to tickle his ears. He sat up. That was the wrong thing to do. Instantly, he was aware of the need to vomit and as he looked about, he saw no place to do so discreetly, before it was too late. He let if fall to the floor beside him. It drained him of his energy. He gagged for a long time, blood mixed in with the bile. Finally, he was able to get a grip on it and lay back down...where he closed his eyes and wished he had died. What the hell was with those needles? |
OOC: sorry I haven't posted in a while folks, haven't had internet access over the weekend - don't ask - long story. Plaxica after he had dragged Rong Er onto the ship left her in the elves care and went to dry himself. About 20 minutes later he came out of his cabin in dry clothes and spotting Karthias on the deck asked him: "How is Mormegil? I think we will have to ask Rong Er about the antidote soon. What do you think?

ooc>>Also was away at the weekend, seems I got back just in time though :D
ic>> i think that would be a very good idea. last I saw of him he was in a bad state, I hope he pulls through. Maybe we should go and check whats happening, although Im not sure there would be enough room for us in his cabin, it seems everyone is there. How about we go and try to manipulate Rong Er into telling us how to cure him. we can try and sneak in, what do you say? I want to put an end to this, we came here to fufill an adventure, yet we are not even near our adventure and already we are suffering casualties, I dont like this "Rong Er" one bit! [ 02-03-2004, 11:57 AM: Message edited by: RoSs_bg2_rox ] |

The breathing is steady, and a serene expression suffuses her countenance as she falls into a deep, uninterrupted slumber. Anyone looking at her motionless body can hardly believe that she had been capable of such aggression only about half an hour ago... |
