My suggestion for the PARTY would be:

Main character(Mage or fighter)
Minsc
Jaheira
Imoen
Yoshimo
Jan(For comedy)
Edwin(See "Jan")
Keldorn(Cuz he's cool)
And then one last character who would be either:

Anomen(Just for the fund of having him killed at some point during the movie)
Nalia(See "Anomen")
Viconia(So Jaheira and her could fight over the main character)
Mazzy(Just cuz she's cool)
Valygar(No reason at all except we need some reason for Jan to tell the "My aunt was a ranger" story)

or

Aerie(Just so she could get killed and spare us her whining)

The side-quests that should be included in the movie(Only enough space for one of them to be included):

Windspear Hills(So we can get a dragon battle!)
Umar Hills(For spooky shadow temple so we can have some scares)
Trademeet Quest(For an arena battle between Jaheira and Faldorn)

or

Nalia's Keep(So we could hear that cool soundtrack)

I'd go for Sean Connery for Keldorn too but he's too old and fat by now. Drew berrymore shouldn't be in any movies...only reason shes ok is cause shes with Tom Green. Now he should be in the movie. He can be the annoying guy from trademeet. He can do some freakin stuff to get some comedy releaf. Main characters gotta be a big fighter guy. I can't remember his name but the guy from pitch black and the fast and the furious. He'd be good in any movie. The dude that was conan in the serious(gladiator dude you guys were takin aboot) would make an awesome minsc, he doesn't even have to pretend to be stupid.

Bhaal is the god of assassins and murder, the main should be an evil assassin. That would fit.
