Are you serious??? DOH! (Hits self over head)
That must be why Aerie keeps snickering at Anomen when he boasts about how much damage he can do with the Sling of Seeking. Well, it never stopped me from finishing the game, so it can't be that bad of a goof. But it's annoying nonetheless.

A lvl 13 Generic Archer/Cleric dual, using the Erinne +5 Sling with +4 Bullets. With Grand Mastery in Slings, GoES, and Righteous Magic activated, he'd be doing 38 dmg per hit, with 8 ApR if you cast Imp Haste on him.
As a side question, does the magic bonus on the bullet add to the "To Hit" and to the "Damage" roll? Not that your "generic" Archer/Cleric needs any more bonus to THACO, but it might matter for a non-fighter class.

IIRC, magic ammunition in BG2 only adds to the attack roll, not the damage roll. Don't ask me why; it added to both in BG. Perhaps they thought that missile weapons were overpowered in the first game?

Sounds like they cocked it up to me :(

First time I heard that. To my knowledge, magic ammunition adds both the THAC0 and damage bonus. If it were so, and if it was an intended tweak by Bioware, then I hardly think the item descriptions would've listed the damage roll bonus.

Sling of Everard has the same damage roll bonus as the Sling of Seeking, but a greater THAC0 bonus, so give him Everard and make sure to use enchanted bullets whenever possible instead of it's phantom bullets. The Sling of Everard's own bullets do come in handy when facing enemies immune to +2 weapons (no +3 or +4 bullets in SoA), since they strike as +5.
