Patriotic Canadian!
Hey what about Toronto!
They had an awesome bid...one that received more votes than Paris.
Beijing = 56 votes
Toronto = 22 votes
Paris = 18 votes
Istanbul = 9 votes
Osaka dropped from ballot after the first vote.
If it did not go to China the next best bid was Toronto.
I for one am happy that Toronto did not get it though because
this means that Vancouver/Whistler will have an awesome chance at getting
the Winter Olympics in 2010. I live in Victoria, on Vancouver Island if any
of you know where that is: kudos. It's just a short ferry ride away from Van.
Thus in 2010 I will go to an Olympic Event preferably Ice Hockey...Which
Canada will win! I have prophesied it! It came to me in a vision!

Beijing deserves the Olympics.
The most populous country on the earth has never had an Olympics
and it's about time they did. Having the olympics there will
be best in the long run and the issue of human rights will be
brought to the forefront. Thus having it there will mean
moving forwards on this topic for China...which is more important
than them not getting it and the issue never reaching that point.

Bingo! Please stop killing everyone who disagrees with you. Please! Here, if we (in effect) give you millions in payola will you stop? Please?

Yet again the most criminal nation on the planet gets rewarded for murder.

BTW, for all you dog lovers, did you know that in China it costs more than the equivalent of $400US to register a pet dog. That is more than their average citizen makes in a year! The law is based on the fact that their currnet ruler was bitten by a dog as a child and doesn't like them. Unregistered dogs are killed and the owners are fined.
