Yeah, although I haven't played the game in 3 years I still consider the best RPG ever, ahead of Torment and SoA.

I don't think it is as good as the Baldurs gate series, but yes it has its good points. I don't like that you are timed in fallout 1 although i never found out if the game can carry on after finding the chip.

I'll go carry on and see where i get this evening.

IMHo Fallout 1 isn't as good as the BG games, however Fallout 2 is. I agree that the time limit in Fallout 1 was pretty restricting and kind of ruined the experience. Fallout 2 was by far the superior RPG and better than SoA in story, characters, and overall fun factor. I also felt the turn based combat of the Fallout series was more tactical than the BG-style pausefests.

There's a patch? Where? At BIS?

Attalus,

I'm not sure where I found it. Its version 1.02. I'll email you the file.

Getting the water chip is only the first part of the game. Ifter you have found it, the game continues and not as in Fallout 2 when after you have beaten the game you can continue playing, but in a sense that you haven't beaten the game.
Their is a way around the time limit. Both the one for the water chip quest and for the ones after that.

I can't believe I'm the only one to have known this... ANYWAY. The rad-scorpion pincers with leather straps DO have a use... well, not so much a physical use, but they are there for a reason.

My memory is increadibly sketchy, but I think you either find them on the bodies of the dunton twins, or in the dunton twins house. They are supposed to show you that the reported "clawed monster" attacks on Torr's brahmin were, as suspected, hoaxes by the dunton twins to scare Torr away from the brahmin so they could be stolen.

They might open up a dialogue option with the twins, but probably don't. I guess they are just there for the detective-esque player to find and hence aid them in solving that paticular quest. They didn't help me, nor i suspect, most anyone who has played the game, but this is probably besides the point.

DUDE! This is almost three years old! I know it's better to post in an old thread than to create a new one, but the odds are noone has read this thread in more than a year, save you. Why dig it up now?

Anyway, just to correct hayaku, although his theory is correct, it is also correct that in purely gaming terms, the claws have no use at all, because the quest was never completed by the developers.
