<font color=steelblue>Mormegil

He jumped back in disgust and shock. How had such as this slipped past his guard and the ship's crew! Knowing this type to be desperate enough to attack him for a mere gold, but not having his rapier with him, he merely backed a few steps toward his door and scowled.

"Who are you and how did you come about being on this vessel? I shall have the captain have you escorted off immediately! Karthias! Where the devil are you?"</font>

Coruno was fixing the sail togheter whit komo when he saw the wizard still on the dock, "Hey what are you doing down there we almost left whit out you, we dont want that to happen", he says whit a smile. then hearing the noise from under.
"Komo get nadrak. you two ,he yels to rumbin and hima, follow me.
And they run down the stairs armed to only find a young looking ragged boy.
cOruno starts to laugh "the big dragon slayer scared of this?" ohh weel ill just get nadrak to throw him of, but I must ask: how did you come on? I was standing right by the only way on the boat.

Elif Godson 12-22-2003 01:46 PM

that would have been interesting, he thought to himself, ah well. Stepping on board the gang plank he skipped across it to the ship in time to here some yelling and the Captain and a few crew members run below deck. "<font color="green"> action already and we havent even left the shore </font color="green"> speaking this more to himself then to anyone in particular he decided to take a look around the ship.

Fat0 12-22-2003 02:37 PM

Nadrak came in to the room with a grunt and looked around. He saw nothing and looked foolish at coruno. Then when he saw the little beggar he stood up in a big smile.

He lifted the beggar in the neck and looked at coruno.

<font color=lime> Karthias's imediate instinct was to go and throttle the woman, but he restrained himself and stood infront of Mormengil just as the others came crashing into the room. "Ok whats going on here" Karthias asked just as one of the crew picked up the rogue by the neck........</font>

mistral4543 12-22-2003 06:54 PM

<font color=orchid>"L...leggo... leggo of me!" ~ The wretched creature flailed its arms about, shoving, elbowing, kicking out violently and managing to strike at one of the audience at random.

"You're not getting anything out of me... not if you're going to throw me out anyway!"

By now, the voice had become shrill and defiant, the straw definitely spat out in the general direction of Mormegil and the eyes were ablaze with fury.

No one gets away with treating me like that... least of all you, you foreign scum...</font>

Nadrak was getting angry over this girl who kicked him and so on.
Whit a loud shout he dropped the girl when she had kicked him in his "juvels".

He lifted his hand to give her a punch but he could not do it .
Angry Nadrak steeps out of the room.

When he came on deck e saw a man entering the ship. Who is he he wonders.

Nadrak steps right in front of him ,blocking his, and puts his arms i a X and look angry at the man.

OOC: Hopes u know what I mean whit juvels and X.=) If u dont just tell me.

Would they happen to be down there where all that ruckus is coming from ?</font color="green">" I do hope this mammoth understands me or I amy be in a spot of trouble, he thought to himself.

Fat0 12-23-2003 02:59 PM

Nadrak makes a big grin.
He must be the man how can "play with water" ,he thinks for himself.
He points at the water and later on the man...Then he nods at the way coruno is.

When he has leaved the "water man", he climbs up to the mast and look out in the way of the sea.

What a party we have,he thinks,Two elfs ,one thief , one dragonslayer , one captain and an half-orc.Its gonna bee one hell of a travel, he thinks and smiles.

<font color=orchid>Gingerly rubbing her aching bottom, she nevertheless looks up at Karthias with a withering glare. Then turns to face Mormegil, her face glowering. Her eyelids blink momentarily and she closes them, inhaling deeply for the next few moments.

As her features relax visibly, she re-opens her eyes and picks herself off the floor, dusting herself a little and then halting as she realises the futility of the attempt to look clean.

She continues to stand there, watching Mormegil, not saying another word.</font>

<font color=orchid>Her crumpled face brightens at the words "we have already left the harbour and it's too windy to turn back now", and a dimple forms on her right cheek ~ Aha, now that's the hand of Fate for you! ~ So that her captors cannot help but be amazed at how cheery she is about being tied to the mast of the ship.

The sparkle in her eyes defying her filthy appearance, she looks skyward and begins singing to herself:</font>

<font color=pink>
"Blossoms do they come and go
Secrets do they keep and know
Simple pleasures be my friend
Heaven is this private land

Youthful wishes are too dear
Only cowards would know fear
Heed not calls of heartless man
Catch me if you think you can

Friendless beggar roams the street
Sighting ships, oh what a fleet!
Honour, riches, here I come
What's my share? A great big sum!

Bullies meet for handsome sup
Spot the wretch and tie him up
Let them laugh and have their fun
Beggar is the one that's won..."

Skydracgrrl 12-27-2003 03:46 PM

ooc- sorry about my hiatus... i've been busy fixing up my grandparents' new house with my uncles :D and in response to yer question elif, sarasota ;)

ic- During the scuffle, Skye and Lyulfe were quiet, although by the grimaces and winces Skye made, it was obvious whom she wished to help. A cautioning hand from Lyulfe, however, was enough to restrain her, and the half-elf heaved a sigh and continued to watch the events unfold.

Afterwards, once they were out to sea and quiet enfolded the ship once again, Skye peeked out around her door. Glancing back and forth to make sure the coast was clear, she skipped forwards to where the "prisoner" was tied, a strange bundle clasped precariously in her left hand. The midday sun beat down on the deck, and the half-elf fanned herself with the end of her braid.

<font color="skyblue">"Hallo,"</font> the bladebard called lightly, upon reaching her destination. <font color="skyblue">"I'm sorry we couldn't have met under better circumstances, but my name's Skye. If you don’t want to tell me your name, that’s alright, I understand, considering the situation."</font> She flashed a brief smile at the small vagabond. <font color="skyblue">"I thought you could, erm, use something to eat,"</font> she added in a quieter voice, and the half-elf glanced over her shoulder again. <font color="skyblue">"I dunno if I'm technically, er, allowed to feed you, fraternizing with prisoners and all that, but since it's from my own pack I think it should be alright."</font>

The half-elf unwrapped the cloth to reveal some fresh bread and white cheese, as well as a flagon of water, all the while continuing to talk in a friendly manner. <font color="skyblue">"The water's for drinking, as well as to cool off, if you need it."</font> Skye eyed the vagabond’s hands, which were tied and bound to the mast. <font color="skyblue">"Well, I can hand feed you if you want, but if you have any other ideas I’m open to suggestions,"</font> she said dryly, then added, <font color="skyblue">"By the way, I liked that poem you were singing earlier. I haven't heard anything quite like it before. Do you know anyother ones?"</font> Skye said excitedly, then looked slightly abashed. <font color="skyblue">"Sorry about that, I get a little excited about things like that, since I'm a bard. You're probably hungry."</font>

<font color=orchid>She had been grinning devilishly to herself in her solitude, when the elven lass approached her ~ And I thought I was the one who looked exotic. ~ A rueful smile crossed her lips, as she pictured herself dressed in her grander attire, against this maiden of unearthly beauty and grace. For a flitting moment, her eyes filled with real gratitude. Then, they clouded again.

"Food would be good." ~ Her voice was gruff, and her face, inscrutable. Slowly, her teeth sank into the loaf of fresh bread, whose aroma punctured her senses. As she chewed on, she blinked and her nose twitched. Abruptly, she shook her head, indicating she was full.

Head drooped, she turned away. But it was too late; the tears rolled down one by one, leaving trails of moist grime on her cheeks. Soon, she was bawling her lungs out, not realising that the bladebard had backed off hastily in the din she created. When she finally stopped, she glanced about her to find that the ethereal-looking creature had gone off, temporarily at least.

Drat...

Her lips pouted a little, then broke into a tiny smile.</font>

<font color=steelblue>Mormegil

Speaking to his guard Karthias, he said:

"I assure you, I have no idea who she is nor have I ever met that vile creature before today. Now excuse me."

Mormegil walked out to the ship's edge and watched the water trail by as the ship cut through it. The stowaway had been bound as directed by the captain. As Mormegil was walking back to his cabin, he saw her, but she was not alone. The bard was having pity on her and was sharing food with her. Now that the ship-rat was defenseless and imprisoned, Mormegil found himself wondering at his terrible cruelty earlier...but resigned this thought to sea-sickness or something else...and turned from the sight and walked away, back to his cabin. </font>

<font color=white> Karthias wasn't sure whether to believe Mormegil or not, but for the moment decided he would just have to. He perceived that if there was anything between them then he would find out soon enough, and as Mormegil's bodyguard he would have plenty of opportunity as he had a good reason for being around him. He also thought about going to see the girl, but quickly decided against that, thinking that he didnt want Mormegil to suspect he wasnt quite sure about all this, and after all, Mormegil had been good to him, maybe he should just drop this alltogether, afterall why did he care.................but then something told him not to.

All that thinking made Karthias hungry, so he decided to go and fine some good meat and ale and have a chat with some of his fellow crew. </font>

ooc: Grats Larry and Wife. It was indeed a Merry Christmas for you :D and I hoe everyone else had a Merry Christmas as well.

Corinthian sat up on the deck in over looking the the rest of the ship, slightly obscured by ropes and sails he was invisable without being invisable. Playing with some moisture he formed them into small gelatinous balls and rolled them around his finger's and hands, this would always make the head master's at the academy angry, they would say I was waisting my talent's, bah, no waste at all just a bit of fun, then he saw movement on the fore deck and quickly flicked away the pellets that smacked against the deck the sound of solidity. He assumed it was one of the other crew members that he had seen on land but hadnt really been introduced to, she went up to the stowaway and started talking to her. She's a soft one he thought, but a good one this should prove to be an interesting voyage, the captain stays out of sight, Nadrak the large lumbers here and there and I suppose we are to pick up the rest of the crew at the next port, from what I've seen this ship sails itself, very nice. Just then the captive started to cry and the bard got a nervous look on her face and backed away. "<font color="green">must have been something she said </font color="green">" he spoke in a quiet voice

mistral4543 12-29-2003 07:34 PM

<font color=orchid>It had begun as a game, but now the joke was upon her. As the days and nights passed, she found her entire body wrecked with cramps and her throat was parched more often than she liked. No more did she chuckle, sing or make demonic faces at the passers-by... no, she merely closed her eyes, shutting out the fierce beating of the sun's rays upon her lithe frame.

She breathed heavily, leaning against the mast wearily. Her eyelids fluttered open momentarily, before closing. The world seemed to be spinning again, just like the night before, when the huge waves had rocked the ship, sending it bopping up and down in a jerky path. And the rain... slapping her across the face ~ ... as if Papa had sent it on an errand... ~ She was turning delirious herself, shivering, her lips firmly pressed together as she struggled to uphold her pride. Yet...

Pride against what? This bunch of heartless losers? ~ It was becoming a strain to summon what disdain she could, when her body was swaying and breathing was near impossible.

At last, she lifted her head skyward and spoke once, her pathetic voice in agony.

"Papa..."

Then it drooped, and she fell silent and weak.</font>

ooc- well, I attempted to write a post before leaving FL, but of course I disconnected. Luckily, I was able to copy the 2 paragraphs worth of writing... unluckily, according to microsoft word and notepad, I never copied it. So I'm rewriting all this in the car. Hopefully I remembered it all -.-

ic- Skye felt bad that she had left the captive, who was in great need of cheering up, but the bladebard couldn't risk getting caught. And with all the ruckus the vagabond was making, the risk was too great.

Skye closed the door to the crew quarters and, with a sigh, slid to the floor with her eyes closed, the wooden door to her back. <font color="darkseagreen">"That wasn't a very wise decision, you know,"</font> a voice said in a dry, slightly reproofing tone. Cracking one eye open, Skye gave her companion a rueful grin.

<font color="skyblue">"I go and try to do a good deed, and what do I get? A scolding! Ah well, I'm not known for my "wise decisions" anyhow. That's why you're here, to be my conscience,"</font> the bladebard bantered, and batted her lashes at the elf. Lyulfe snorted, which Skye took to be amusement, and she grinned and winked in reply.

The half-elf got to her feet and stretched. <font color="skyblue">"I'm in the mood for some music, I don't know about you."</font> She bent an ear to her harp and tested the strings. Lyulfe frowned at her slightly and gave her a wary look.

<font color="darkseagreen">"Just don't get too carried away. I don't want to have to fish you out of the sea because the crew got tired of your singing."</font> Skye made a face at him.

<font color="skyblue">"I won't, trust me. There's just something that I... want to check out."</font> The bladebard was gone before Lyulfe could comment.

Later that day found Skye sitting cross-legged on the deck, singing an amusing ditty.
<center><font color="skyblue">"O I caught a fish in the water,
I caught a crab an' his daughter,
I caught a flounder an' a sole,
An' I caught an ole tadpole.

They all criiiiiied,
'Mercy me, please let us free,
We'll swim back to our mothers.
My very kind lady, now please be fair,
An' go an' catch some others!'

Well, I saw a cod in the water,
Shoved in me net an' caught 'er,
I saw a clam, an' a fluke so fine,
So I caught 'em on me line.

They all criiiiiied,
'Mercy me, please let us free,
We'll swim back to our mothers.
My very kind lady, now please be fair,
An' go an' catch some others!'

Farewell they swam off singin',
'Til both me ears was ringin'
'Cos I fell in the sea so dark,
An' got caught by a shark.

Then I criiiiiied,
'Mercy me, please let me free,
I'll swim back to me mother.
My very kind sir, now please be fair,
An' go an' catch some other!' "</font>
</center>

She bowed cheerfully to those who were in earshot, and finished off with a more solemn tune.

<font color="skyblue"><center>" 'Tis a far cry from home for a poor lonely thing,
O'er the deeps and wild waters of seas,
Where you can't hear your dear mother's voice softly sing
Like a breeze gently stirring the trees.

Come home, little one, wander back here someday,
I'll watch for you, each evening and morn,
Through all the long season 'til I'm old and grey
As the frost on the hedges at dawn.

There's a lantern that shines in my window at night,
I have long kept it burning for you,
It glows through the dark, like a clear guiding light,
And I know someday you'll see it, too.

So hasten back, little one, or I will soon be gone,
No more to see your dear face,
But I know that I'll feel your tears fall one by one,
On the flowers o'er my resting place."</font></center>

Skye trailed off, and cast a furtive glance at the vagabond, to see what effect the song had on her.

ooc- The vagabond doesn't see Skye's look, k? Just thought I should mention that, since last time Skye tried not to be noticed, she was noticed by half the crew. <font color=orchid>
The strains of the music penetrated her weary skin and soothed her discomfort momentarily; she tilted her head sideways, caught the eye of the pretty elf and whispered hoarsely.

"You... help... me..."</font>

Larry_OHF 12-31-2003 12:23 AM

OOC>>>Wonderful usage of the poems, Skye!

Skydracgrrl 12-31-2003 01:25 AM

Skye looked at the captive with a somewhat dazed look, then her gaze sharpened. Standing up abruptly, she strode over with an agitated air. Lyulfe appeared through the door at that moment, unbidden, and hurried over to the half-elf's side.

After examining the semi-conscious vagabond and having a whispered and heated conversation between them, Lyulfe walked away. <font color="darkseagreen">"Captain!"</font> he called urgently. Skye brushed back the captive's hair from her hot face with her cool hands.

<font color="skyblue">"It's alright now, we'll get you better,"</font> she said in a soothing voice. <font color="skyblue">"Sleep now, sleep..."</font> As the captive started to doze off, Skye looked around impatiently for Lyulfe and the captain. <font color="skyblue">I don't care if this person attempted to hijack the ship and call herself a pirate, she still shouldn't have been allowed to get in this bad condition!</font> the half-elf thought angrily to herself, while her hands continued to soothe the girl's face. She thought over her song lore that could possibly help, and sighed slightly. <font color="skyblue">I'll have to enlist Lyulfe's help... better be careful. At least I know a little bit more about this girl though... she must not have lived too hard a life, if she's in this bad a shape... she must have a very interesting history, behind that face,</font> Skye mused to herself.

ooc- thanx for all the poem compliments all the thanx should go to Brian Jacques, and his wonderful writing and poetic talents! *claps and cheers*

I was sorta looking for a reaction to the last poem, more of a "grr, I hate my parents" or a "waah, I miss my mummie," but getting sick and semi-conscious works too, hehe ;)

He was just going to get nadrak to help him whit the feast for this evning when the elf yelled for him.
Yes? how my I help you?

RoSs_bg2_rox 12-31-2003 09:41 AM

well i did write an explanation but it wouldnt have it because of the HTML so press the "Quote" button and check out one of our posts with colours in them!

RoSs_bg2_rox 12-31-2003 09:53 AM

ic> <font color=white> Karthias had been chewing on a bit of meat when he heard a soothing voice singing, helistened in awe as he heard skyes poems, they were utterly brilliant! Presently there was a commotion as the elfs partner spoke to the captain: now what could this be about he thought and unconsciously moved a little closer. </font>

ooc>> those poems were good! Out of interest which book/s were they from (I have read most of the Brian Jaqcues books but I cant remember those poems)

Skydracgrrl 12-31-2003 10:55 AM

ooc- the poems were from his latest book, Triss. He's such a good writer!!!
As to how to make colours, you could click the "quote" button on someone who posted with colours, as RoSs_bg2_rox suggested. here's a small tutorial, just in case

&lt;font color="skyblue"&gt; "text" &lt;/font&gt; This should show up like <font color="skyblue"> "text" </font>. If you want to look up other colors besides "skyblue" (which I advise, because that's the color I use for Skye), check out http://www.htmlgoodies.com/colors.html

ic- <font color="darkseagreen">"I'm sorry to bother you Captain, but I think you should follow me,"</font> Lyulfe addressed Coruno. The two approached Skye and the captive, and she whirled around angrily.

<font color="skyblue">"Captain, I realise that the captive is not your responsibility, because she is a stowaway, but she should not have gotten in this condition. Just look at her!"</font> The half-elf waved an agitated arm in the ailing vagabond's direction. <font color="skyblue">"She's very sick, and unless you want to have to deal with a dying creature, I suggest you cut her loose so I can attempt to make her a little better."</font> She paused for breath, and spoke again, more calmly. <font color="skyblue">"You may view me as soft for caring this much about this stowaway, Captain, but I believe one's character is not judged by how one treats their guests, but by how one treats the weak, those under them in stature, and enemies. Obviously you had reason to keep her aboard, because when you found her, she could easily have swam for shore. I don't think you kept the vagabond merely to watch her die."</font> The half-elf stopped, and looked at Curono with an intense gaze, waiting for his answer.

RoSs_bg2_rox 12-31-2003 11:11 AM

ooc>> Ah, I have that book but havent gotten round to reading it yet.

Corinthian

Sitting in his quarter's meditating he was pulled away from his trance like state by the sound of music and singing. Listening closer he couldnt help but get a misty eyed at the tonation of the verse's." <font color="green">Well so much for meditation</font color="green">" Getting up he slipped back on his tunic and went upstairs to investigate what was going on... "<font color="sky blue">CAPTAIN</font color="sky blue">"he heard spoken very turtly as he stepped out onto the deck, and noticed that the Bard was holding the stowaways head up. "<font color="green"> Has anyone given her anything to drink</font color="green"> he yelled out. Walking over to where the captive was and the bard,"<font color="green">Excuse me, may I have a look</font color="green"> " he asked, just as the Captain and the the elf walked up

<font color=white> Karthias watched the whole seen, he saw the eyes changing! This made him very unconfortable. He was already unsure of this captain, this just made him uneasy. In all his life of adventuring he had never seen anything like this before. He was busy contemplating what to do when he suddnely ealised he should take a look down below and see what the captain and Hima were doing.

As he was quickly walking towards the door to go below deck he noticed that no one else seemed to have seen what he had seen or else they werent letting on. He went down the hatch and then looked around, the trouble was he couldnt find the captain. </font>

ooc- you should prolly use a different color, Calsiumus. It's difficult to read against the brown background.

ic- Skye noticed the Captain's eyes change color again, and she frowned slightly before turning to the problem at hand. <font color="skyblue">"Help me untie her,"</font> she asked Lyulfe, and the two quickly released the stowaway from her bonds. <font color="skyblue">"If you can help in any way, I will be greatly relieved,"</font> Skye told Corinthian in a worried voice, as Lyulfe slung the girl over his shoulder.

<font color="darkseagreen">"I'll put her on my bed,"</font> the elf said to Skye, then went below decks, following Hima and Coruno. Skye, concerned, grabbed Corinthian by the hand and pulled him after her in Lyulfe's wake. The two of them arrived to find the vagabond lying on the bottom bunk, with Lyulfe bent over, tucking the sheets in around her.

<font color="green"> I think I may be able to help her in one for, I can at least give her some cool water to drink</font color="green"> " stepping closer to her he leans low and starts waving his hands over her body and chanting in a low voice, moisture bigins to appear to bead on her skin and clothing cooling her body and easing some of the cracking that the sun has done to her.
Ending his chant, he sat down on the bed and lifted her head up onto his lap, propping her head back a bit to open her mouth he cup's his hand which slowly fills up with water, which he slowly pours into her mouth.<font color="green">Drink up lass, this will replenish you</font color="green">

<font color=steelblue>Mormegil

Mormegil had come up for some fresh air away from his cabin when he saw the commotion around the captive thief. They began to undo her bonds and care for her, as she was now obviously sick and in need of better nourishment. With all the hassle around her and then the captain also seeming to be not much better off, nobody seemed to notice Mormegil's presence behind them all. He quietly slipped back to his cabin and shut the door.

"Damn them all."</font>

OOC>>>Mormegil must be the only person on the ship besides Mistral's character to have not noticed anything strange with the captain or his eyes. Just for you info.

Mistral...check a message at our personal rendevouz point.
