Re: "Dungeon Craft Game Creator Group"
@Manikus - Yeah thats how I thought we'd have to do it, still pretty much the same as it was with the FRUA community collaborations. So, which would be more productive for such a design team? To establish an atleast tentative complete art set to work with from the beginning which can be altered piece by piece as needed throughout the design process? Or to have the group establish exactly what art would be necessary from the beginning and make that the first priority to have a complete set of art to work with so that each designer can better see how his or her additions are going to look in game?

Re: "Dungeon Craft Game Creator Group"
Check out this post. It will make collaborating a lot easier. :) I can explain more as needed. But, essentially each person could make their design (I'm assuming, and I think correctly, with the same databases) and then the project manager could put them all together. I've still got to test events - especially transfer level events - so fingers crossed. :)

first of all we should write a story, define the quests, the main persons and so on. The level-designers can now create the levels (arts can be dummies) and the art-creators can begin to design the necessary arts. finished arts can send to the level-desginers and build in the game. in this way of work we have three main-groups: story/quest-designer level-designer art-designer Another Question: What campaign-setting do we use? A list are here: http://www.ironworksforum.com/forum/...ad.php?t=99396 @ Uatu: Thanks for the List! ;-) |
Re: "Dungeon Craft Game Creator Group"
No problem, I expanded the list as well! :D

Re: "Dungeon Craft Game Creator Group"
I'll help where I can, but my recent experience with DC proves to myself that I'm nowhere as efficient with events as you guys seem to be. The events in my demo drove me nuts, almost forced me to give up.
I still need some -major- training. But I found I'm pretty good at level design. Gimmee art and I can work magic. I put things in my town that I didn't even use in the demo, a jail and sewer access to name a few. Plus I put in several secret rooms which I -did- use. So, if you need any help.... |
Re: "Dungeon Craft Game Creator Group"
Is anything happening with this? :) You aren't all hanging out somewhere talking about me are you? :D:D:D
Just a little bump to remind people this topic is here. ;) |

Re: "Dungeon Craft Game Creator Group"
Is this idea on hold? Or is there interest for someone to start it going?
