Well I remember professor mentioning Petofi at history class in connection with 1848 revolution.

I actually read two of Gardonyi's books (slovene translations ofcourse), the book you mentioned and another about young boy (I think his name was Jancsi) becoming a involuntary monk. The story takes place in 16th century about 30 years after the battle at Mohacs (sp?) where Hungarians were defeated by Turks.

Wicked, didnt know Slovenian translations existed! [img]smile.gif[/img] I love novels set in that Turkish occupation of Hungary period. And Mohács is the correct spelling but I'll let you off the accent on the a ;)

What about that very rich guy? George Soros? wasnt he one of the richest stock traders in the world at some time?

He is still alive I think and IIRC he live in the US.
