Suppose he did molest the child, but he believed it wasn't molesting, if he was asked 'did you molest the child' he would likely say no, however if he was asked 'did you touch the genitals' or something he may say yesy (supposing hypnosis actually worked and he couldn't lie and so on).

This is actually interesting... recently in Australia it came to light that a priest of the Catholic Church who has since been discovered to have molested many children made over 30 visits to a confessional admitting to having molested the children and the priest who heard the confessions did nothing (except give him some rosaries of something for penance). 'Technically' he was right not to break the confidentiality of the confessional but surely there are limits to confidentiality (e.g. as there are for doctors and social workers and mental health professionals)? What do you think?
