I've joined different groups of people to do some of the different quests set around Ascalon, and I must say its incredibly fun.

One question though: Let's say Player A is a very high level character who has explored most of the areas in Guild Wars. Player B has just started out recently and is doing some quests orientated around Old Ascalon. Is it possible for Player A to come back to Ascalon and help Player B do some missions, or can Player A + B only do quests together if they both have not yet completed them?

No, if the monster is low level but the player is high level. He might not get any exp from the kills.

You never get xp for mission that you've already solved once, or for killing critters 6 levels or more below you own level. Your mates should be more than able to come back and help you though, they just wont get the little green marker on the compass since they can't actually get the mission, that shouldn't prevent them from helping you reach the goal though.

I spent half the day this last sunday helping two of our guild members gain a level and complete a few Missions and 1 quest. The only thing I got was treasures: Bows, Swords, canes, staffs, and Gold. The most important part was, I had alot of fun and will do it again and again, all you need fo do is ask and as long as I'm not in the middle of a Quest or mission of my own I'll come help you if I can.

Let me try to clarify this whole thing once and for all:

Any one at any point in the game in the POST-SEARING universe (That is to say after the screen says "Two years Later" ) can help anyone else with their early quests or missions.

Here's how EXP distribution from killing monsters works:

FIRST: All EXP is devided by the number of players.

SECOND: Each individual's EXP is distributed based on their equal chunk's level.

In other words. If you have a monster that's level 10 and a party of 2 players, a level 10 and a level 17, kill it. Here's what happens:

Level 10 player earns 100 EXP Divided by X

X = Number of members in party = 2

so level 10 player earns 50 EXP.

Level 17 player eans 0 EXP Divided by 2

so level 17 player gets 0 EXP

In a party of 3 people:
One is levle 5, one is level 10, one is levle 15.
They kill a level 10 monster.

Level 5 gets: 150 EXP / 3
Level 10 Gets: 100 EXP / 3
Level 15 gets: 50 EXP / 3

So:

Level 5 gets 50 XP
Level 10 gets 33 XP
Levle 15 gets 16 XP

4 member party Against a level 15 monster:

Level 5 gets 200 XP / 4
Level 10 gets 150 XP / 4
Level 15 gets 100 XP / 4
Level 20 gets 50 XP / 4

As was stated before by someone here EXP gain per level is based on the base level of the oponent defeated but it is also distibuted based on party size.

This char shows the Max limit of EXP gain:

Monster Level

# . . . . . . . 1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 5 . 6 . 7 . 8

Player level

1 . . . . . . .100.120.140.160.180.200.220.240
2 . . . . . . . 80.100.120.140.160.180.200.220
3 . . . . . . . 60. 80.100.120.140.160.180.200
4 . . . . . . . 40. 60. 80.100.120.140.160.180
5 . . . . . . . 20. 40. 60. 80.100.120.140.160
6 . . . . . . . .0. 20. 40. 60. 80.100.120.140

As you can see 5 levels differince is the maximum gain for EXP. Once you're 6 levels above your oponent, no EXP is gained from killing him.
Also: Note the incrmements of 20.

MISSION RULES:

If you beat a mission for the first time you earn 1000 EXP and 1 Skill Point.

If you beat a mission the second time, no additional EXP is eanred.

NOTED BUG: A second sword will arrive in the sheild when beating a mission for the SECOND TIME, or any time afterward, even if a BONUS mission has not been completed. This does not mean a reward will be given.

DO NOT let this confuse you with the TWO-SWORD Sheild design which is intended SPECIFICALLY for beating a BONUS mission and then the MISSION itself. If you want to know whether or not you've completed the BONUS and the MISSION look at the icon on your " M " map. If you see two swords in the sheild that means you've completed the BONUS and the MISSION. If you do not see two swords in that sheild, that means you haven't done the Bonus OR it means you've done the bonus but not the mission.

Note: If you're not sure which one you've completed uhh if you've unlocked the NEXT mission zone or town, that probably means you've completed the mission (but not always some towns can be reached by means other than missions hopefully you'll know whether or not you actually baet a mission)

CAN A MISSION BE BEAT WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS ALREADY BEAT THE MISSION?

Yes. A level 20 could do "The great wall" with a level 1. The levle 20 would earn a total of 0 EXP from monsters and beating both main quest and bonus quest (if they have previously completed the bonus quest). The level 1, along with the 20, will earn 1000 EXP and 1 Bonus Point on completion of the Bonus and will earn an additional 1000 EXP an 1 Bonus Point on completion of the Mission.

SOME BONUS QUESTS are incredibly difficult and are designed to be completed LATER ON when players are stronger.

The first bonus you will probably note that is difficult will be in Nolani Academy. ( In the Nolani Bonus you have to get past a massive army of level 10 warrior ghosts: a daunting feat, even for level 20s. )

If you hve any further questions, PM Me, and if you want, Message me in the game some time and we'll do missions together!
