What's the fewest # of reloads you have used to finish SoA? Preferably without cheating (e.g. good parties should wait for enemies' circles to turn red before attacking, etc...) Also curious as to how soloers fare.

I thought I would bring this up again so I could see how good some of the veterans here are, compared to me .

I used to be a reload/rest hog the first 5 times I played; you know, never bothered to memorize RaiseDead or LesserRestoration, rested after every couple battles... Then I tried to see how far I could get in ToB without dying/resting excessively and was surprised at how far I could get if I planned properly... Also, it was WAY more exciting: actually started using temple services, restoration spells, and breaching/defensive magic a LOT more... Now I'm doing SoA again and I'm about 1/3 through Chap. 3, only reloaded twice: first time I stupidly got killed by an ochre jelly, the second was when Anomen got wiped clean off the roster by a vamp ambush, and I'd wanted to see how my Female Undead Hunter's romance would go. Cheated once, though, fighting Tolgerias - I knew he was behind the door and cast area spells without seeing him - I'll never do that again though .

...Or does anyone out there go so far as to actually start the game over when their character gets killed the first time?

Never tried to count the # of reloads... Could be a fun thing to do. Thanks for the tip.

Twice, due to personal stupidity, but none that I recall against enemies.

Solo Sorcerer

No reloads in ToB, I think... none that I recall. I definitely fought all the bosses and won without the need to reload... when you can beat Improved Abazigal blindly and without preparation, you begin to wonder whether a Sorcerer is too powerful.

Did not rest at all since Chapter 7 in SoA, and completed ToB within 11 days without skipping any side quests, or it could have been 7 days or less.

If you want to talk about my solo Cavalier though, that is a different story. I lost count to be frank.

I have a compulsive need to kill enemies, who've hurt me, time and time again. I'll go extensive lenght to make them pay, you dont injure a .. no .. THE child of bhaal. I am the one that does the hurting and planning, hurting me is showing a form of insurmountable disrespect to my power
Im neutral evil by the way
Anywayz, it takes a lot of reloads before im finally happy at how much the insignificant little fool suffered.

--Holy moly [kneels and bows in Dundee's general direction] I've got a lot of practice to do... (Mental note: study DS's posts for homework ) --and look into this solo sorcerer thing...

Dundee: Wish, right? i thought so.

i reload more to see plot twists due to various dialog options and personal choices than because i screwed up. For instance, when the guy shows up about 10-15 days after edwin's "enhancement" the first dialog option revealing his identity makes him turn on you for no apparent reason.

Aye, tis good to get a full recharge right in the middle of combat. Amazing what a couple of Project Image payloads can to do to an opponent's well-being.
