Levitation fix for Morrowind (!) ?

There is one thing that bugs me to no end, and that is how people while levitating are still "walking", i.e. using the walk animation while floating through air.

Is there any way whatsoever to remove this animation? I know most people don't use third-person view, and I usually don't either, for this very reason. Still I would very much like this.

Is the animation hardcoded and impossible to remove? Or has nobody been interested in getting rid of it?

I didn't even know it did that until you mentioned it, never paid any attention to it.

Yeah, kinda annoying to see your character is walking/running in the air. I'm not sure if there is any fix for this however.

I thought it was a bit silly and remember wishing those developers had been a bit less lazy, but cannot, alas, remember ever seeing anything that would fix it.
