I was having some fun with ctrl-q to make an interesting new party but their faceless portraits are pretty annoying, especially during a fight. Is there a way to replace them with a custom portrait? Normally for my PC I would go to his character sheet, click "customize", then click "appearance" then switch portraits. But I can't do this with the NPC's because their "appearance" button is not highlighted. Any ideas?

Incidentally, my save game always crashes when I load an edited save that had the NPC portrait changed. Any reason for this ? Any remedy in sight ?
