I have a Voodoo3 3500 graphics card on my computer, but the game is lagging a lot when I have 3d acceleration enabled.

If I wanted lag, I would play Pool of Radiance

There is no lag at all if I turn the acceleration off, but then the screen becomes too dark. Adjusting brightness/contrast does not quite do the trick.

I believe I have all the latest drivers for the card.

Plz post only if you have encountered this problem... thanx

voodoo 3 is not a very good card, it has many incompatabilities. IIRC, glsetup has some good opengl drivers for it though. go to www.glsetup.com and run the web setup, check the notes first though, woudnt want you to kill your computer.

other than that, if it dosent work it dosent work and you should turn off your 3d card. it might not look as nice, but its a whole lot easier to play.

there should be at least two brightnes adjustments available - one on your monitor, one in the BG2 config (probly called gamma adjustment - this one works better and keeps colour balance(ish)), and possibly another gamma adjuster in your cards control panel, wich will work even if you turn off the 3d-acceleration.

Thanx for posting!

Already did the glsetup

The graphics are worse with acceleration enabled.

Guess I'll just have to keep playing with software rendering. At least the animations work in 3d. Although adjusting the lighting/contrast in the game options or on the monitor did help (it still looked wrong), adjusting the gamma in one of the card settings did help.

Well, not all cards are suited for all games
