Game crashes when I talk to Rubble

Know anyway to fix this? I just talk to him and then the game crashes. First time I talk to him too. (He is the umpani in the mine tunnels). I need to talk to him to complete umpani quests.

The error says:

MonScript MoveRubble.msf Line 2: Unknown Location NP_RUBBLE

I do remember a bug with Rubble ocassionally failing to appear where he should do which made completeing the Umpani quests impossible. I've never heard of this, though.

You've got the same version of the game as me so it's not a patch problem. Sounds like it could be a corrupt file somewhere. Try uninstalling and reinstalling (remembering to back up your save games). That may help.

I know why I got the problem now. The first time I met Rubble, I gave him security level 1 card to complete the obstacle course. This seem to cause this bug. Now when I talk to him in mount gigas, the game will crash. I searched on google and found some people with this problem. You should talk to Rubble the first time, not give him the card. What I have to do now is to use a hex editor seemingly. There was a site with instructions, so I hope it will work.
