If anyone wants access to the imported beginnings for Wizardry 8, check out:

* http://home.cfl.rr.com/rickyworld/

The page offers a zip file with all four import-possibilities (ok, all 3.01 import-possibilities...). It also has a zip file of an advanced Wizardry 8 game-in-progress. Peter Pan (male human monk) and Tinkerball (female faerie ninja) stand alone at the entrance to the Rapax Away Camp. Do they enter and battle dozens of elite Rapax by themselves? It is up to you. (When I played, they entered, and won!)

Changing names is easy. Open a characters item view, click on a chars name and you have that option, if I remember right. I have done it many times as I got tired of a name, or after I changed class on leveling up.

Kakero,

Ziggurat is correct. From the screen he describes, you can change name, personality, or portrait. You can also dismiss & replace characters entirely, so you do not need to play with the same characters I or Quinn developed. A replaced character will not have any of the extra skill & experience of the original imported character, but the party will keep any of the items they have with them.

PS: I believe you have to make changes _after_ starting a game. You cannot do it from the "Start New Game" character review.
