Don't Let Biff The Understudy In Your Party!!!!

Well, I just finished with the Eldoth-Skie quest in Baldur's Gate and then I decided to let them both out of my party. So I let Eldoth out and he took off, then I let Skie out and she stuck around (albeit she was a little sad) and then out of the blue pops whoelse but Biff The Understudy and he wants in my party. So I was like, sure, I'm always up for new NPC's and I let ol' Buff into my party. Well, lo and behold, Biff was in my party and he HAD NO PORTRAIT! It was just a question mark; not only that, but he had no alignment, all his stats were 9, and he had no biography. I'm pretty sure he didn't have a voice set either. Well, i decided that it was high time to let ol' Biff go, so I did. Then, when I tried to save, the game crashed. I did it twice with the same effect. So I wanted to know... who is this Biff fellow anyway? just a lost character? and if so why does he crash your game? Oh well, wherever you are right now Biff, my hats off to ya bud.

My guess as to what happened is that Skie was supposed to initiate a conversation with Eldoth--but since Eldoth wasn't present to respond, the game popped Biff in to take his place. And since Eldoth is a recruitable character, so was the Biff who replaced him. And there's nothing wrong with your game; Trying to Save (or travel between map areas) with CLUA'd-in party members will crash the game too.

HAHAHAH LOL! That's pretty clever. Oh well, Biff was quite an incredible guy I have to say. Just wish you could keep him in your party. Oh well. Thanks for the info Six [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]

i Also heard this happens with Khalid/Jaheria ! my friend left jaeria and khalid for a while and jaheria turned into good ol biff or maybe it was khalid, well anyway i think it was jaheria

Not to seem acidic Taran, but what dimension have you been hiding in? Six has been around for at the least the past 2 years and most likely longer than that.
Six is the one who's guided me through most of my BG experience.

(The best way to tell if someone has been around for a while is to check how many posts they have.....Six currently has HEAPS)
