*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Howdy-Ho fellow adventurers!

Well, I had a lot of fun last night. Rode my horse, Toronado, to the Serpent temple, and talked to a heretic outside. Got the key I needed, and rode to the back entrance. Once inside, I started stompin' on snakes...

Didn't mean to... the first guy I met was a human mage, who welcomed me as a new follower. I corrected him, and he went into a funny little speech. "Let me remember, do we allow non-believers to walk in our temple? NO!!" Once he attacked me, I took him out. Then, every room I entered, I get attacked by Snake priests and their poison spells. Funny note: Many of the priests are carrying Cure Poison potions. Why would a serpent, who uses poison almost EXCLUSIVELY to fight, carry the antidote with them?

Well, I've wandered everywhere, and found the prisoner the Inquisitor was talkin about. He won't talk to me, thinks I'm one of the bad guys. I've also been picking up a buncha gold coins that the priests keep dropping. But, I have NO idea what I'm trying to do in here...

I've adopted a new tactic in the temple, therefore. KILL 'EM ALL, Let the powers-that-be sort them out.

I AM afraid that I may have already killed the person who is supposed to give me the clue as to what I'm doing here, and I'll have to start over.

oh well, I left the game at home, so I can't finish the temple 'till later...

Thanks for reading, and wish me well..

Okay, RudeDawg: some hints here....warning!

1. Did you talk to Gorthius, the thief south of Valeia? He should have given you a set of lockpicks to give to H'Thark (the prisoner). If you never talked to him, go back to Valeia, head southeast, and do so. H'Thark will be your friend then, when you give him the lockpicks.

Or, if you don't feel like going all the way back to Valeia to find Gorthius, and are in a particularly sadistic frame of mind, there's an object *ahem* lying in the fire pit just south of the prison that can make that boy talk, but good!

2. Did you grab the key that Kreug (the mage git) dropped? You'll need it later on. If you didn't, go back to the place you met him and nab it.

Other than that, you're doing fine...just remember to snag the coins they drop! And get H'Thark to talk to you...he has some important information. He tells you more if you give him the lockpicks then if you use the *ahem* alternative method...

Have fun!

Thanks, Saz !!!

Yes, I have both the lockpicks, and the key that the mage dropped. *woohoo* I'll talk to the prisoner as soon as I get home...

A coupla inventory questions...

I'm still carrying the bauble stick, and the gold key from the first crypt. Do I still need them or can I drop them? Is there anywhere taht I can store items?

Thanks !

Good...you got what you need. Keep on truckin'!

Drop the bauble stick and the gold key...no longer needed. Generally, if items are needed after you finish a dungeon, there'll be a broad hint about it. For example, the Oracles tell you you need the "Face of Death" before you get to Shurugeon...a GOOD hint that you need that particular item in that dungeon.

BTW, you never mentioned what level your guy is at now. How is he doing? Just curious.

hhmmmm I dunno...
I'm a Ranger, and leveling up kinda quick, I think...
I'll check when I get home, (Inna coupla hours)

also, I just started with the scout ability / trait.. I'm at level 2 on that...

What other skills should I be training on? (remember , trying to stay a Ranger...)

RD... you don't need those two items.

As far as a way to store items, most solo players opt for mule that stay at the town Inn. Just create a dummy character (or 2, or 3). Leave them at the inns in the nearest town (you'll have to move them from Valeia to Ishad N'ha with your character). Be carefull: if your not playing with the patch, some of the items that your character has in the inn MIGHT dissapear. I play with the patch and never lost a single item.

Skill: It depends... did you guild hop? Here are, IMO, the essentials for rangers: Sword, Bow, Acrobatic, Artifact, Scout, Stealth (think dissapearing in the woods), Blessing. Nice to have: Forge, Leadership, Gallantry, Prowess, Second Weapon (if you plan on loosing your bow), Death Strike, Enchant, Pick Pocket, Traps and Lock (you can use your vines spells for this too).

Hope this helps.

Ryanamur...Acrobatic? Did you mean "Athletics"...otherwise, you've found something I've missed!

Good suggestions on skills. How many guilds have you joined, RudeDawg? Rangers can technically only join the Warrior Guild, but you can join others by "guild-hopping": that is, taking a Role Ascension quest for another role, joining the guilds that role will let you join, and then cancelling the role. Otherwise, a lot of those skills Ryanamur listed won't be available to you.

OK folks, just checked...

10th Level Ranger

How do I get the Stealth, Blessing, Leadership, Gallantry, Prowess, Second Weapon, Death Strike, Enchant, Pick Pocket, Traps and Lock without losing my classification of Ranger? Can I do it by "guild-hopping", and if so , how?

Again, thanks for the fish! uh, I meant "help"!

Ranger Dawg! I was wondering about you all day. . .glad you updated us as to what is happening with you and Toronado!

That Serpent temple is a big place, much to do there. You already have the answers you need so far, so I only have one question "Can you make arrows yet"?

Remind me later to ask another question about something Davros said in the temple. I don't want to say it now, it may spoil something for you.

Happy to hear you are managing to stay unpoisoned!

Later,
