I don't think anyone has figured that one out tabbikat! The Lich's key, right?
Someone said it went to the Lich's study but that door was open when I got back there and the only other door in his study was a high level lock that needed bashing or picked. ?!  Moni |

It's that locked door in the Lich's study - with the one chest inside and nothing really unusual in the way of random treasure. Most players bash their way into that "vault". You've been there - done that! Wyv |

The only thing I think that's non-random treasure in that chest are the +4 Wizard's Robes (which are a pretty good find at that point). I don't think there are other robes much better except for some of the high-level Samurai robes found in Cet's pyramid.

Did anyone ever bother to save their game before trying what looked like it should be an "A+" chest of goodies and then reload if the items were just junk? Think I did that maybe once.

Wyv, Yep and I did it on chests in the Serpent Temple (repeatedly) to get Cutlasses for my front men who at that time were using Rapiers.
