Maybe this should be on the BG2 forum but here goes: If I play through BG1 and import my character into BG2 do I get to keep any of the items that I aquired throughout the first game? If so what do I get to keep and what get's lost?

- - - - - - no - you don't get to 'keep' any items ( you wake up in a prison cell) - but you might find some of them in the first dungeon ( helm of balduran and golden pantaloons )

There is always the option of using the CLUA Console (in BGII) to conjure up an item or two that your PC had in BGI but that you won't find in Irenicus's dungeon. i wouldn't call it cheating, just personalizing the game a little more. if you feel that bad about it, leave behind one other item (like the helm of balduran) in lieu of the one you conjure up.....or just pretend that the conjured item was also somewhere in the dungeon. whatever floats your boat!

I believe you'll find the Helm of Balduran whether you had it in BG1 or not. You can also carry over the Claw of Kazgaroth, if you were wearing it at the end of BG1; the problem is that if you keep the Claw, you find it right where the Helm usually is--and you don't get the Helm.
