Mage stronghold bug (contains spoilers)

My students have all graduated, and IIRC, there's supposed to be a time when I recieve a note to come back, and both the Coweled Wizard contact and I have been tricked.

This time just won't occur. I've tested going to the graveyard and sleeping for over two weeks, but I never get the messenger telling me to come back to the sphere.

What can I do? Can I CLUA in the messenger? If so, could somebody please tell me how (and use specifics, I'm not good at this).

Have you tried just going about your business and doing other stuff? The timer may refer to actual time, not game time. Most of the timers in BG2 do actually.

Some things may also stop the timer. I say just keep playing until you have absolutely nothing else to do.

I actually just found out what happened. Apparently, I must have been in Trademeet when the messenger spawned, and left the area before he talked to me.

I went back there, and he told me to get to the Planar Sphere. The mini quest went on without a hitch from there.
