Does anyone else listen to Qawwali? I've been into Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan for some time and he's awesome, but i'm now trying to find other artists in the same genre. I've been digging around and researching but i usually come up with links and references only to him. This is online, in libraries, in music shops etc... Even went to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music library and the only recordings they had? - Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I know he's considered by many as the top of this field but there must be a wealth of equally good stuff around, i just don't know where to look/listen.

If anyone is familiar with other Qawwali artists and can help, I'd be extemely grateful. Thanks!

Leonis, I've got a Pakistani friend who lives in Penrith who is really into Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I'll check this out and get back to you.

Hello LadyRae! Qawwali is the religious music of Sufism - a mystic branch of Islam. The most famous singer at least in the west is Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan from Pakistan. I recomend it to anyone, it is one of the most amazing vocal styles I have heard and it's also just so damn funky.
