Agh cant find another class that suits me

The sheer lack of thiefs in baldurs gate really limits me. I hate not being able to backstab effectively. The only class that i really enjoying playing is a kensai dualed to a thief, and this is getting very repetitive. Any suggestions?

Want to Backstab, eh? How about...

A Stalker?
An elven Thief/Mage?
A half-orc Fighter/Thief?
A halfling Assassin?
A dwarven Cleric/Thief? (backstab with club & quarterstaff)

Having Imoen / Yoshimo with you doesn't mean that you don't need a thief, it just means that you can concentrate on those things which the thieves in BGII ignore: pickpocketing, setting traps, stealth.

Or, you could just play a Sorcerer...

Lack of thieves? Well, let's see. You've got:

Jan
Yoshimo
Nalia
Imoen

That's more members of a class than any other profession has in BG2. I'm not saying some of 'em are the greatest, but there's much to be said for Jan. Especially after you move to ToB, he can acquire the ability to use any item whatsoever. Factor in level 9 mage spells, and you have one little gnome that can deck a demon in nothing flat.

I see your point about not wanting to give up the thief....
playing one, or a hybrid of one, as always kept me happy..
Coming out of Iren's dungeon and then stealing a scroll case, tons of spells, large shields+2, full plate, and basically anything your party needs is just too FUN....
I hate how you can't sell back fenced goods or steal from adventurer's mart... but oh well =)

You can fence stolen goods (to fence is to sell BTW- just correcting ur grammer a bit ) you can do it at only a few okaces though...

Heh.... I just sold/stole/sold the rod of fear (?) that I got from killing the lich in the gate district about 30 times to roger... I just couldn't stop doing it, I found it so funny...
Roger: Welcome to my shop of illegal goods, got any?

Me: actually I have a bunch of them, but here buy this one first...

Don't forget Jayce (just outside the 'promenade' proper, north of the eastern gateways, in the shadows) or the guy up on top of the Copper Coronet (near the door to the Slums Chapter of the Temple of Illumater).

You can easily have the 20,000 GP before seeing Gaylin. [img]tongue.gif[/img]
