Those formless blasphemous caricatures of living creatures burn my eyes. They look like they were put together by a blind god who heard the description from someone whose language he does not speak. I think that dog has tentacles for eyes.

LOL! Now, the question is how *NOT* to draw attention to it...

Well, drawing a cicle around it does not draw attention.
I wonder why that cat looks so happy... *must... not... ask if it is getting a duck....*

No, no. You're in the wrong thread. You want "Which Great Old One Are You?" two doors down.

Deep Ones are unpleasant, yes. Very unpleasant if you meet one in a dark alley. Very, very unpleasant if you meet several in the middle of the night, breaking down your front door. Shoggoths are much, much worse. Looking at one will most likely make you insane and just thinkin about them too hard is bound to leave a mark.

But the Great Old Ones are at least skilled and intelligent in ways a human mind cannot comprehend, and the things they have made are well designed and fine tuned to perfection. Whereas whatever entity created those things pictured above doesn't have the faintest idea of the local laws of physics, let alone basic biology.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that they are frightening in different ways. Knowing that something immensely powerful is eventually going to wipe out your species and there's nothing you can do about it is one thing. Knowing that something that, while immensely powerful, can't figure out why creatures' heads should be smaller than their bodies wants to be friends with you is another.
