Yes, get the Platinum ed.

When looking for used items to buy, I start with Amazon.com's 3rd party sellers before eBay. They are held to higher standards, and Amazon.com tends to take better care of their customers.

NWN Platinum ed. (Used)

However, those prices nearly rival those in a store. But $12.00 for shipping from eBay is also ridiculous.

In doing a search on eBay, I found a whole page of Buy Nows...but most of them look to be from the same couple of sellers. BTW, there is one that is marked as free shipping.

I'm looking to get NWN finally, too.

Is it worth it to shell out the extra bucks for the Diamond version, or should I save my money and get the Platinum version?

In my opinion Stuie (welcome to Ironworks by the way ) it is worth shelling out for the Diamond version because you'll then get the excellent premium modules as well as both official expansion packs. That's many, many hours worth of gameplay .

Welcome to Ironworksforum, Stuie.

When/if you get the game don't judge it by the Neverwinter Nights Official Campaign alone; it's fairly mediocre. The expansion packs, Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark, are much better.

Hey Stuie and welcome!
I'm not sure how the prices are in the US, I'm in Canada myself. The price for Diamond is $29.99 here and the price for platinum is $44.99. You pay more to get the manual. I did get Diamond at Christmas and printed all 113 pages of the manual 'cos I hate read me files. If you're never going to create your own modules and like having an actual manual, platinum is the way to go.

Thanks all for the friendly welcome and advice.

I should have mentioned that I'm definitely interested in the modding capabilities, so, judging from Variol's response, Diamond is the way to go. In a way it's nice to come to a game this late, so it's all patched and packaged for such a low price.

It still gets regular updates, and bug fixes too. The next patch is in beta right now, so it will be released soon. The toolset seemed to get the most benefit from this patch, with new tiles/creatures, and scripts coming up.

Oh - I forgot that it was still getting patched. Nice to see a developer supporting a product this late in the game, especially with NWN2 coming out soon.
