taking over my hummingbird feeder. He won't let any other hummers feed there and chases them off. (No I don't know if it's a he or not. I don't know where to look and what to look for.) I was thinking of taking the necter out of the feeder and replace it with saccrine. Then the little bugger would run out of gas and I could pick him up and put him in the trash can.

Seems like birds are a lot like people.

You could borrow my brothers cat... she's caught several hummingbirds, a truly impressive feat and the only cat I've ever heard of with the skill.

Apparently her technique is to wait in the grass under the feeder or flowers until the hummingbirds roost to drink... then she grabs em before they can zoom off.

BTW... hummingbirds can be very agressive and can kill birds much larger than they are. They basically run into them using their beaks and skewer them... like a self powered dart.

Arvon, most birds gender cannot be determined by looking for certain signature equipment found on mammals. Instead look to the plumage. Typically female birds have the duller plumage. After all, it's the guy birds that fight over the girl birds.
