You seem to be using only the "Best" items obtainable in the first 2 or 3 chapters, am I correct? If so, then you seem to be on the right track. I'll abide by the "Chapter 3 or Sooner" rule with these suggestions:
Ring: Ring of Energy, Claw of Kazgaroth? Amulet: Necklace of Missiles. Or Greenstone Amulet, if you have ToSC.

your assumption would be correct on that subject, however i would have listed better items had i thought far enuff ahead, something im not so good at doing heh, but neways yah i have totsc, tho i just recently installed because i was having some problems when i first bought it, the computer couldn't handle it cuz it was older then my dog, which is rather old, but u can suggest away on the better items i should switch out to from my list. also is kazgorath worth it since this will be my only char, i dont rly like that stupid -2 con modifier on it but if it is best i can deal with it.

My Reccomaendations
shadow armor greywolfs sword, Longbow of Markmanship (If you are going to kill drizzit get his scimtar "Defender") stealth boots Could wear baldurans cloak or the cloak of the wolf then when you collect a reward , buy or sell or want to charm someone stick algernons cloak on. Bracers of archery or gauntlets of weapon expertise ring of prot +2, ring of free action Necklace of missiles helm of defense boots of avoidance girdle of peircing

ok well since i can't edit my last post to include this i had to repost
neways i am now using the kazgorath claw/ring and holy **** its awesome, im smacking everybody around, even with the health i lost which was about 10-15 life, i dont get hit enough for it to rly become a factor, tho i am worried about the life factor later on when i encounter more mages instead of all these arrows and crappy swordsman, i was also wondering if i were to go talk to drizzt while i had his weapon equipped, twinkle or frostbrand, would he act ne differently, just a thought. |

The Claw of Kazgaroth does carry a hefty penalty, but overall I think it's worth it. Having an extra 10 or 15 hitpoints won't be worth a damn if you fail your Save vs. Spell against a Horror or Confusion. The Ring of Free Action is also quite potent, of course.
Boots of Stealth are nice (Steath = Survival for a soloist), but don't start to depend on them--you are going to want the Boots of Speed. Helm of Defense is good, but the *cough* helmofbalduran *cough* is far superior. And no, I'm not going to tell you where it is, and hopefully nobody else will either. Drizzt cannot tell if you have just pickpocketed him--unless, of course, you Failed the pickpocket. (A Solo F/T would have one HELL of a time trying to kill him.)

actually i find that it is rather ez, i tried it just a few mins ago after i first read ure post, all u do is use some invisible pots, and some oil's of speed, and the bow of marksmanship or something, and if u have kept most of ure oils of speed u can keep it up for quite a while, also if you use algernons cloak u can charm some of the gnolls before u get into sight of him, or run around and charm everything on the map i guess, tho i didnt go quite that far, and it took me a fair bit of time to beat him but i reloaded to before i killed him cuz im not trying to be the power gamer, im trying to be a role player or wutever ya call em and yes i realize that algernons is not quite role playing, however i never said i WAS a role player, just said im trying to be one oh and btw i agree about the boots of stealth, however i like using boots of avoidance and the belt of peircing right now, considering it makes you so powerful vs all the ranged attacks made by bandits and black talons, but yah i will end up using the boots of speed so that i can close with those ranged units once i get thru the cloakwood.
