Currently my level 7 Ranger is wearing Hide Armor which is heavy as hell and reall crappy but looks cool. I was thinking of changing to some type of Studded Leather in my "solo" game. But im not sure wether i should just go put on some platemail, and loose my stealth ability which being solo helps a lot, or going with some lighter, less intiging armor... thanks for your help!

DSOTSC is an add-on to TOTSC. In other words, it just adds on to what TOTSC gave you. From what i know Black Isle DID NOT make it. And it does have lots of errors, the Elven Mail alone has a lot of spelling mistakes in it. But i guess since they didnt have anything for us Elves and Half-Elven folk to wear TeamBG decided to give us a lil' summin' summin'! I forgot the URL to DSOTSC but uh, ill look for it! |

Or, you could kill Drizzt and get his chainmail armour, as this gives you AC1 and doesn't hinder thief abilities/stealth. Plus, it makes you look a cool blue I think there's a thread detailing how to kill him somewhere on these boards....

I like the Bracers of Defense AC 6 myself, you can get them from Daevorn when you kill him in the Cloakwood Mines.

You could keep two sets of armor (maybe have a fighter carry one for you), and use light armor when you want to scout and switch to heavy armor for tougher battles.

My favourite (BG1 only) is full plate mail, with the ring of protection +2. If you're in a situation where you need stealth, just put the armour in your backpack.
