In short I have a bet with an English workmate that the mighty Matt (the Bat)Hayden will average greater than 51 runs for the coming Ashes tour. For some reason, this guy would not at all accept a wager at an average of 50, yet felt instantly secure at an average of 51 - go figure .

Hi Sultan...

Okay, engineer then.

I write Lil at least once a week, if not more often, but with a baby in the house, I'm lucky if I get online more than twice a week sometimes. As it was, I had trouble getting back to you as my darling Sarah started howling and I had to go feed her. She's doing well, about 5 teeth in now, but the teething makes her whine (I don't handle it well). Can walk with hands held, but not really standing alone yet. And she's learned to say "kitty". And yes, she gets into mischief. Only two hours ago she was in the kitchen splashing her hands with glee in the cats' water bowls. An enormous puddle and a sopping-wet baby resulted, as well as a change of clothing. She had fun, though!

Smooches!

I just talked to Lia and Alan in the weekend chat, Davros. They're doing fine, no snow in Alaska yet. Lia was having a devil of a time with her MSN account...apparently it wouldn't let her register it under MSN.com, which is her account name, but MSN.net instead, which isn't the same thing. I had to leave, so I didn't find out how they resolved that, but I hope they did. We were all kibbutzing each other on computer setups (I was getting my wife's computer to talk to mine so we can share our broadband connection.)

oh my daughter or my ducats - you give me a proper admonishment for neglect of my harem . I chatted to Lil about 6 weeks ago, but what happened to the timing of the chats - I just logged on and no-one was there - now was the time they usually started??? Judging from Saz, the chat has been and gone - what time does it start now, cos it is 6am over here.

One stipulation though when I do make it back - Lil must not be holding any of that duct tape - she's far too handy with that stuff.

He is the rock on which Australia's totals are being stabilised.

I was kinda hoping that Donut might take up the challenge as well - we could have the "swallow something nasty" bet. If Matt doesn't make the target, I would swallow a can of FOSTERS, and if Matt beats it, then it is the SURSTROMMING for Donut.
