Welsh (?) translation

After seeing Talthyr's post re: translation, I have my own query. A while back I had one of those "Family Name Origin" writeups done for my name. Amoung the various bits of info, it gave my ancient family motto, but did not translate it. I am assuming this is Welsh, and have never been able to get it translated. Can someone tell me what it means in English? Thanks!!
Also: proper pronounciation would be cool.
It is: "Cywir in Gwlad"

It means 'Faithful to the Country' or something like that - patriotic I guess!

And I believe pronunciation would be (though the bit of Welsh I remember is more than a little rusty):

Cu-wir in Goo-lad

Welsh pronunciation is one of the most difficult I've ever come-across, although Serbo-Croat is no picnic.

I want to learn Welsh. Not that I'd get much use out of it, mind you... I want to learn both Welsh and Irish due to my family history.

Good for you! It's difficult because the pronunciation and grammar are totally different to the Latin/Germanic languages we're more used to, but it should be fun giving it a go!

Well, I've already studied Russian and Japanese, so I am up for the challenge. I love languages.

There's one fact I've always remembered about the Welsh language, whenever there's a double l it is pronounced similar to the end sound in 'ich.'
What other languages have you done BTW??
I've always wanted to learn Russian, but so far I can speak German, though not quite as well as I speak French, and recently I picked up a little book and I am learning some Swedish.... it's not that hard when you look at some of the words and pronounciations.
I want to learn quite a lot more languages in fact, because I'm really interested in languages and their history and development.
