Falon found himself in a tunnel. A large tunnel. He stood up full height and
yelped as something bit his nose. "AIEEEEOWWW!!" he yelped. His nose was swelling at a rapid rate and he could barely see the attacker. "Hey, waddja do that fer?!", he yowled. The large orange bat just squealed and flew off.

"For sure you are the stupidest creature whut I ever laid eyes on!" Falon spun around to see what had spoken to him and was confronted by a tiny gryphon, no more that 8 inches from tip of tail to top of head. By now Falon was beyond caring what odd creatures might think of him and sat down to hold his nose and moan.

"Ayup! You are the stupidest by far!" growlspoke the gryphon. "Me name is is Merlicor, bow down to me wretched thing!" With that the tiny creature landed on Falon's sore nose and stared into his eyes.

Falon reached for the gargoyle, never breakeing eye contact with the gryphon.

He found the disk hanging from the statue, and pressed a button.

"So long," he thought.

Again, a gong sounded, and darkness fell.

He woke to a painful tweak on his nose.

"Stupid!" screamed the gryphon, "Look at what you've done!"

"Ten demerits Stupid and Insolent creature!" squawkspoke the gryphon, digging talons into Falon's nose.

Falon grunted. "Ouch! leggo by doz!" Merlicor dug deeper. "BOW, insolent one, me temper is sore today!" Falon bowed, bending his head to his knees, hoping to knock the gryphon off his nose and get the hey-ho-heck out of that tunnel before something else attacked his nose.

Merlicor flew up in front of Falon as the man stood back to full height. The gryphon flitted about and Falon glared at it.

Glancing around, Falon noticed that the tunnel opened up farther along and he could hear water running. He headed toward the sound, retrieving the gargoyle and disc on the way. Merlicor followed, spitting insults at him. "Stupid stupid creature with the ugly proboscis!"

Falon was tempted to throw the gargoyle at the gryphon, but in an unsual display of intelligent thought, he held back. Reaching the opening at the end of the tunnel, he spied a waterfall full of red goo, which when tasted, turned out to be raspberry jam.

With a sudden flash of insight,Falon realised the key to the whole episode could well be those mushrooms he'd picked earlier and had on toast for breakfast......

Falon reached into a pocket, and pulled out more toast. He ran it through the jam, and began to eat. He fished in his pocket for more mushrooms.

"Toast is nothing more than burnt bread." A voice spoke cryptically.

He turned, and nearly dropped his food with surprise.

He couldn't believe what he saw.

A giant mushroom with arms was standing in front of his refrigerator. "You are now in my control" and it began to hoarsly laugh, spores spewing from it's crumbly mouth.

Merlicor chortled with glee and dived up and down around Falon's head squawkcrying "Now you're gonna get it! Now you're gonna pay STUPID creature!"

The giant mushroom grinned and Falon decided that any mushroom with teeth was a mushroom to be avoided. He spun on his heels and ran blindly toward the far exit from, wading through the jam river.

The jam began to pulsed, like the beating of a heart, a dull screeching sound echoed toward him. He span the Merlicor and the musroom was gone the stones of the wall bleed together forming raw unshaped rock, the jam hardend and changed like wise, the roof stretched up and large spikes moved downwards meeting those that began to grow up from the floor. The passageway became a tunnel of solid rock, opening wider at one end and begin to close at the other, then it stopped and Falon was plunged into shadows the only source of light was at the wide end of the tunnel. He moved slowly reaching out with one hand, the other keeping the gargoyle close to his chest, at the end he found himself on a ledge blinded by the stunning light. As his eyes adjusted he saw that he was in a cavern, roofed by a vast sheet of ice, sunlight move through it creating a rainbow of colours. Below the ground was covered by forest and rivers in the distance a stonewall could be seen reaching up from the ground around it, a city perhaps, a reddish glow covered small sections of the ground like pools of fire; it was warm if slightly damp. Beside him a trail lead in to the valley it was steep and overgrown with plants, it must not of been used in many years he thought. He moved down the path.
