Hehe, one good thing about dialup. Your IP address changes each time you sign online. so i dont have a firewall up. if i fear something has happened, ill sign off and get right back on. then BOOM, im good

Stormy, don't worry about it. Hackers wouldn't bother trying to hack you or me, or anyone else here, they spend their time on the bigger corporations that may have stumbled onto their site or they may just do it for the hell of it.

No worries

Whereas if you have broadband you get at least 10 times the bandwidth and can install a firewall and feel safe

Gangrell - no, CRACKERS spend their time breaking into corporations systems

Except for two minor points:

1) The hack attempt may have placed a trojan into your computer. On dialup it will take a while to transfer it, but if the transfer is complete and the trojan is activated, it will try to call home no matter how your IP switched.

2) Unless you have a firewall you wont see anything happen (Unless the hacker chooses to do something user obvious), and if you do see anything it will be a notification you were attacked and that the attack was unsuccesful. If the firewall lets the attack through it probably wont do more than log the connection.

Okay serious post for once..

Someone whom I won't mention, unless they want to mention themselves, gave an excellent link to ad-ware on this forum a while back. Thank you whoever it is. (Darn tracking crap!)

What are you talking about? you did not find a hacker site Because Hackers don't have a site!!! A hacker never dials from the same place twice. if they did they would be in jail within 30 min.
What makes you think you were at a hacker site give me the address of the site and they will be gone I can make sure of that for you faster than you can spredd butter on toast and don't ever ask how just take my word for it!!!

From a friend, and I will leave it at that, since the site was not password protected, and you had easy access to the site, then that means that the hackers/crackers do not fear anything being seen on that website. It is probably a front, anyway...kinda like a fake spot. The real sites cannot be found by you by just "browsing the web...".

Is anything at all happens, they will just make sure you are not a person that they know (They have their own comminity circles), and they will ensure you are not the Feds. After that has been proven, they'll decide that you probably got lost and are as scared as they had hoped you'd be.

Nothing will happen to you. True hacker/cracker circles are not very bad people. You may even know one or two and never be able to believe that they are really cyber-gods. Don't worry. The only ones to "fear" are the wanna-be hackerites. These are kids that bought info off of ebay on how to hack, and they have nothing better to do, since they are too ugly to get girlfriends...

Ah the CrimsonButterKnife is the master Hacker himself. He will gain access to the evil hackers' base and destroy them all quicker than you can spread butter on toast! Don't mess with him!
