Does W&W run well on Wimdows ME? The game has now arrived but on the box it only says its OK for win 95 and 98.

Cheers

There are some problems running the game on Windows ME bu not anything like running it on 2000/XP. You should have no problems geting the game to run.

Ditto what Willow said. When the game came out, I don't think ME was on the shelves, so it couldn't be compatible with it. We have folks running it all the way up to XP, though, so you should be able to get it to run.

And if you have any problems, come on back here and ask. We can get you going

Cheers guys!!

Is there a good site out there where I can get some info on the races and classes, so I have an idea of what to pick.
Any suggestions would be helpful as well.

The manual should be on the CD, and that helps a lot. You may want to look at Xignal's site, where a lot of the basics are covered. There's a guide there to starting a party for the beginner.

The best thing about the game, though, is that there are no wrong choices; whatever you pick to start the game will be good enough to finish it with.

Cool, thanks Bungleau.
I'll have a look at that site.
I've been giving some thought to upgrading my OS to XP, will that cause the game to have any problems?

It might cause a few problems...like you have to set the compatibility to Windows 95...There's also the Virtual Dub problem a lot of people have...not sure if that's just Windows Xp tho...If there are any other problems, this forum has the best techies around!

I've been giving some thought to creating my first party (a busy day at work!! ) but I'm not sure what are the best weponds, I'm thinking about starting with 3 Warriors (plus one rogue, preast and wizard), should I concentrait on sword skills for all 3 or sword, axe and mace/spear/anything else?
Cheers

That is perhaps the most debated subject on the forum. To echo what Wyvern and Bungleau usually say: there are no wrong choices.

The way I see it there are three aspects to it:

1. After all this is a role-playing game. Personally I develop my characters into charicatures. For example: My barbarian excels at axes, my zenmaster is specialized in kung fu, my warlock uses staves, my zenmaster used maces when he was a monk, etc. - I.e. for the fun of it you can choose to keep characters true to their roles.

2. Especially for your second and third run of the game: Once you have completed the game your party will have developed to a power house. You can then choose to make new characters specializing in less effective weapons (such as maces) to make the game harder.

3. You can choose the best weapons and weapon categories to inflict the most damage. The best weapon categories are daggers and swords. Within these categories come the best special weapons, and furthermore they are the best for blessing and enchanting. A character with full strenght, 2nd weapon skill, and gallantry plus the appropriate strenght traits equipped with two weapons enchanted +14 can often kill even the biggest monsters with a single blow.

There are many possibilities, but what gives you the most gaming satisfaction is the best choice.
