On a trip between Gullykin and Beregost, I was waylaid by some direwolves and a lesser basilisk in a small map. Khaled got stoned before I could react. Fortunately, I killed everything and had a stone-to-flesh scroll. But if I had not, would I have been able to return to this area to unstone Khaled?

Nope. Without cheating, there's no way to return to the waylay areas, so a statue of Khalid would have permanetntly decorated the Sword Coast. I, for one, would condone cheating (teleporting the party back to the area, with a S to F scroll) in this case, as it's perfectly reasonable that the party would write down exactly where the attack happened, and return to the same spot.

Either that or summon a Stone to Flesh scroll with the CLUAConsole. I have had to do that a few times.

Nope...Gildor Fairflight, my character, is wearing the sex-change girdle to avoid bounty hunters. He's the twisted sister.

You could just reload from the auto save if that happens and take a different way.

smoot you really gotta stop these random posts in outdated sectors. Some situations have been solved that just don't need your noober-ish input.

Ok, Firestorm, smoot has now officially been chastised enough for one day. He's already soaked to the skin with Gatorade.
And smoot? Firestorm is right--if a thread hasn't been posted on in the past 2-3 days, you can assume that the subject has been dropped. The Waylay encounters between maps are random, to some degree at least.
