A good idea gone wrong, mostly because Atari made Troika rush it out the door. Combat system is good 3rd edition turn based, but the story, quests, voice acting, etc. are not really that good. I'd like to see them take that engine and put it on a good game/story.

I do know that some people have played, and finished, the game. So not sure if the bugs affect everyone or not. And after all this time, isn't it patched up proper now? Just wondering. I'm still playing Sacred so in no hurry, but at some point I should give it a shot I guess since I bought it. Or is it just a total pain in the butt to even try? sigh..

LadyZekke I played TOEE when it first came out unpatched. I didn't have any problems until one stage when I couldn't complete a quest due to a bug. Put simply, the character would not complete the dialogue. I instaled the patch then as I wanted the experience from the quest otherwise I probably would not have unless I found myself really stuck somewhere.

The only thing I found hard about it was that the fights were either totally wiping me out at the begining, or taking way too long! Then again I was playing the game with only 3 characters as I didn't know you could have more *LOL*

As far as patches are concerned however, I don't use them unless I find that I absolutely have to. Take Far Cry as the best example. After patching it my praphics started playing up something shocking giving me a grey area in the screen every time my character would move around. Considering my hardware is always upgraded as soon as a newer model comes out, there's no reason that should happen!

Anyway as far as TOEE, I really enjoyed the game even though I did not finish it. This was not due to the game not being good though but rather because it was put off for so long, I couldn't get back into it anymore.

I was thinking about buying TOEE... good thing I heard bad reviews first before actually buying it.

Sacred I want to try... but money-wise... err...

Eastside Hockey Manager, Championship Manager, Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, and BG Series. (I switch between games often, and I have a lot of free time, it being summer and me not being able to walk. )

Going through Fallout 2 after a long time! I'm convinced that it's among the greatest games ever created(as perfect as Torment.. Also by Black Isle).

There's just something thrilling about having a Kama Sutra Master perk and Gigolo, Sexpert and Porn Star karmic traits.
