Mobile phone networks are turned off during terrorist threats because phones can be used to trigger bombs.

There is NO report of 90 deaths as yet!

Please don't indulge in idle speculation about casualties and please don't make crass remarks about links to the Olympics. I've been trying to contact family and friends all morning, the olympics rate zero on my mind at the moment.

We are living through this right now, I can hear sirens going past my office every few minutes. Please think before you post.

Could be one of four things:

1. Al Qaeda
2. IRA
3. anti-G8 protesters
4. some other idiots

The main reason I worry, is although I don't know where he was going, I know he lives on Edgeware Road. Which is one of the stations hit. He will have been there at some point this morning, but I don't know what time he left at. He also regularly travels through Kings Cross. Also hit.

So, it was one the line he regularly travels.

I'm glad your ok though Charlie.

Hope the others are too.

I'm worried sick, and incredibly fucked off.

But, I do think about the Olmypics. Anger leads to speculation.

Grrr, news reporters irritate me. "If this is a terrorist attack"...like it's all a frigging accident. WTF, get a grip.

It's Al Qaeda - no doubt about it.

Some casualties are arriving at the surgery where I'm working to allow the local hospital to deal with serious casualties.

Sorry to have to post on Lanesra's account.

Coincedence that this has been bombed the day after? Depending on the damage, it might have to be moved to a different country.

Like France.
I thought about the olympic bid, but i couldn't think who would do it for that. Maybe the terrorists just chose it to give extra publicity.
French renegades?

If our Underground is totally destroyed, we will lose the Olympics!

6 Explosions so far...5 on the underground, 1 on the DD Bus.
FFS why would the French want to bomb us ? there's a million terrorists out there who hate us!!
This has all the hallmarks of an al Queda attack, probabally linked to the G8 conference, not the pissing olympics. Lets get rational people, please

News here just said 2 confirmed dead, ~90 casualities, and that Tony Blair is to make a public statement at midday British time (within the half hour).
