Because He had been in power a while at the beginning of ANH. And have you seen any trailers in the Movies. Jar Jar was pretty annoying, but I don't think that he was as bad as people think. No wait, he really was that bad, sorry for the lapse in judgement. Hopefully, now that Obi-Wan's master is gone, he'll off him(like he wanted to do in PM). |

I hope that Ep. 2 is alot better than Ep. 1! The Phantom Menace was pretty disapointing compared with Ep. 4,5,6.

Actually, people DID expect miracles with LOTR, and Peter Jackson fulfilled it exactly to the very last detail, so now expectations are even higher. If Star Wars does fall behind LOTR, it'll probably be the end of a very, very long era..

Well I saw trailers of Natalie Portman kissing a guy in Ep II... I said, "wow". I am going to watch this second ep not only because of that, but it sure seems to be more mature than EpI... HOEPFULLY!!! I don't want to be disappointed since I am not really a Star Wars fan...

I have seen the trailers, and I am more excited about it than I was for LotR...although LotR surprised me on how much I liked it. So, trailers don't always do the trick for selling the movie in the intended fashion.
I am sure it will do as good as it did for Episode 1. Being better at the box office than LotR??? It may be a close call, but I am putting my money on LotR for maintaining #1 seller on the first weekend opened.
