Here's a poorly balanced party for you all to laugh at (idealy the Barbarian would be exchanged for another Wizard)
Sister Lisa: Human female Paladin,ex Warrior, Valkyrie to be. I chose one of the more demure less Valkyrie like portraits before thinking of making her a Valkyrie because it suited her Paladinic aspirations. She generally keeps the party together and stops them breaking each other's heads.Wields the Mavin and takes full responsability for it. Durin Stondraeg: Dwarf male Paladin, ex Warrior. I was originally going to keep him as a pure Warrior because a Barbarian seemed slightly wrong bearing in mind some of his past exploits and a Samurai didn't quite fit either.I eventually decided to turn him into a Paladin for extra party healing.Shield specialist (it's great when you get it up to about level five or six). Carenis the Barbarian: Human male Barbarian, ex Warrior. He is fun, I let him be a Barbarian to see if I could keep his hit points less than Durins (Carenis' Vitality 13, Durins Vitality 1 and was pleasantly surprised that is was hard to point out that the rock solid one should be tougher (and after some reloads the stony one is).He likes big swords but recently began swinging a night blade. Telar: Human male Cleric,Warlock to be.Telar is a major party healer and poison curer. He can also stand up for himself in a fight if the worse comes to the worse. Gertha Drin: Gnome female Assassin,ex Ninja,ex Rogue. I was going to keep her as a pure Rogue but she liked those oriental looking weapons and begged me to let her have some. Shevine Callishan: Elf female Warlock,ex Wizard, potential Zenmaster to be. Generally chosen for her quick learning trait to balance out the slow rate of progression of spell casters, Shevine is noted for her ability to launch devastating, non descriminating Meteor spells at pointblank range. She specialised in Stone magic skills so that I could get Flesh to Stone shortly after the Serpent Temple (before Zydusa would have been ideal ). |

My current party (getting close toward the end): All four human (wanted to see if I could play an all-human party; I see no major differences; Race really doesn't count for s*** in this game)
Sigir: The lead character and wielder of the Mavin (although he has yet to use it; he prefers his souped-up "Blade of Midnight" (a Nightblade that's maxxed out on damage (Artifact of Fiend Blessings). He started out as warrior, then turned to be a Paladin; quickly ascended the ranks and received his Crusade trait, then changed to a Noble Samurai after learning all the Spirit magic he could. Just before he got the Mavin, he surprised all the other party members by renouncing all his vows and changing to a mighty barbarian. Once happy-go-lucky, he is quiet and sad now, a haunted look about his eyes as he contemplates the grim fate that hangs over him; the curse of the Mavin. Daevi: The second in command; a wily rogue who became a Bard as soon as he could. While as a bard, he encountered the villanous rat Scanthril and learned of the scoundrel's infamous deeds; killer of his friend Gorthius, murderer of the wise Gareth, and now planning to kill the great and noble King of the Stouts. (Never mind that Daevi had already robbed Freyedies' blind; but there is still an honor among thieves and, having been so graciously aided by the King, Daevi wanted to make sure that he lived.) He ingratiated himself with the ignoble rat, carried out the deed he asked (Raskallion was hated by his friend Freyedies anyway), then, having received Assassin status, made his first assassination to be the foul Scanthril and his pernicious crew, in revenge and in memory of those whom Scanthril had slain. He is now a master of the shadows and only fears the undead; being a necrophobe from birth onward. (No joke: for some reason, he flubs many of his encounters with the undead.) Sylvia: A gracious lady of tall and regal bearing; it was said that she was the daughter of a King who was deposed and assassinated, and his family scattered to the wind. She began her career as a priestess of Kerah, learning well the books of Spirit and Vine. Realizing the grim fate facing her world, she knew that she needed far more power than the knowledge contained in those magics, so she embraced the role of Warlock with alacrity and begin mastering the powerful spells of Moon and Fiend. As time progressed and she gained prowess as a spellcaster, her true nature as a warrior-priestess came to the forefront and she took the vows of a Samurai warrioress, learning Sun magic. She remains now a Samurai, able to cast all spells except that of Stone. Her heart longs for the day when she may embrace her true calling: to become a holy Valkyrie like that of her patron and heroine, Kerah. Until then, she maintains as a pillar of support for her comrades; providing a sense of purpose and mission to their cause. Kris: A precocious lad, and a Gemini by birth, he was never able to figure out what he wanted to be. As soon as he could, he began his training as a Wizard, learning well the spells of Sun and Stone. Dissatisfied with only knowing two schools of magic, he quickly began training as a Warlock, learning Moon and Fiend magic, but concentrating mainly on Fiend. Having mastered as much as he wanted from the school of Fiend, he surprised everyone by shucking off his Wizardly robes and running around the countryside naked for 2 days, after which time he took the vows of Monkhood and began to learn Kung Fu along with Spirit Magic. After a while, he became dissatisfied with that, so, contacting his local dojo, found that they wished for him to sneak into Shurugeon and open the drawbridge. "They've been hitting the bottle at the dojo for too long," though Kris, "we opened the drawbridge ages ago." Lo and behold, the drawbridge was closed up again, and a fiendish spirit now stood watch over it. With his Spirit magic, he roasted the fiend, and once again opened the drawbridge. He is, of course, now a Ninja, and his amused companions secretly make bets behind his back as to what he's going to be next. He knows about it, and cares not a whit. What do they know? Life isn't worth living unless you know everything in the world. To know everything in the world...that's what he, Kris, wants. To know the secrets of creation...to become master of all...to become a Zenmaster? Hmmmm..... And so, there you have it. They are now foraging through the bowels of Skull Castle, Daevi cringing at every howl and shriek, rummaging for a relic unseen for centuries. Time will tell if they will be successful. Sazerac. |

My first party and their tales can be seen by visiting the tagline (is that proper computer speak?) in my signature. I am way behind on my writing . . .
Haven't quite decided what to do with the current party . . . CARG, I am laughing because party is considered a plural group noun and you are a party of one! Again, I am being dared to venture forth with four characters but am having trouble letting go of number five. Problem being toting treasure (one of my newbies being a pixie) . . . but we just recently won the lottery SO maybe it will be four. Let you know. |

I recently restarted with just a Whiskas Wizard. Very interesting. No money cheats. Nothing. Not doing too badly either.
HELP! HELP! ANYONE! I can't post a new message. I have several questions, but I can't start a new message. I keep getting an error about a didn't fill in the "Nick Name" field. However, I know that I did when I signed up and I don't see that field when I try to post a new message. Am I just being stupid & missing something? Perhaps a tutorial on how to post a message. Thanx. |
