That was an amazing game last night. I don't think I've ever seen hitting like that one both sides on the ball in the playoffs. Too bad it had to be the Marlins to take the first game.

Oh well, Prior and Wood are up next!!

Yep. After last night, I take away almost every bad thing I ever said about Sosa. Last night was certainly a night of poor pitching and big hitting. Unfortunately, our pitchers sucked way worse than theirs.

But, Sosa's 2-run homer in the 9th was a nail-biter. The thing cleared the stadium and landed on the opposite side of Waveland Ave.

I had just about given up hope before that. The only thing I find disappointing is the Cubs could't produce 1 run in 7 outs against the bottom of the barrel pitchers in the (9th), 10th and 11th.

CUBS WIN!!!!!!!!!
Series at 1-1 and on its way to Florida. Cubs won by a lot, and came within a hair's breadth of finishing a couple of inning with a 10 point lead. The only thing I wished they'd changed: leaving Prior in so long. Sure, he only threw 117 pitches when his normal lately has been around 132 (highest in the league -- he had an injury that allowed him to rest his arm for a month). However, in this series, he's likely to be called upon again. He said he was having fun and just threw the durned thing, but still I'd like to see him in again soon.

Here are 10 hints I would offer to the Cubs winning tonight and advancing, to the teams goal which would be a World Series Victory. Now considering this years past performance, I conclude the following;

1.Keep the knuckle balls higher then normal.

2.Rotate your defensive positions according to the batters.

3.Get on base whenever possible.

4.Concentrate on how the ump is calling the throws, very important.

5. Anchor your hits and watch those fast balls.

6.Warm up before the “game” and you shouldn’t pull any muscles or become de-hydrated during the game.

7. Keep Wood on the mound.

8. Your fielders need to scoop at the fly hits from underneath, rather then over the top.

9.Get anybody out when and however you can.

10. Finally, pitch close to the inside plate.

CUBS WIN AGAIN -- TWICE!!!!!

Only one more win to the World Series. If they don't win tomorrow (Sunday), I'll be camping out with Rain to get tix. She has demanded it (I created a monster by converting her to cubs-mainia).

Come now johnny - they aren't dead yet . My hopes of a Bears v Sox series is lookin kinda slim but. I do expect the Bears to emerge from hibernation with Wood pitching game 7, but in the big show they will be playin them damn Yankees .
