Options crash

Played game a long time back and just purchased again and installed on XP system. Followed all tech tips and runs perfectly fine for the most part. Only problem is that it always crashes when i try to access options from main game screen.

Would normally just avoid changing options but would like to have access to difficuly slider to make game more difficult. Didnt see anything about this on tech tips and was hoping someone could give me some advice. T

ook me awhile to get forum registration approved, so am already through serpent temple at this point, but would still like to be able to adjust difficulty.

I'm not the best for technical help on this board so hopefully someone much better qualified will answer soon until then:

Tell us more about your computer!
Have you updated your drivers?
Are you running in Win95 or Win98 emulation?
Did you install the patch? (I prefer unpatched myself, but sometimes it helps)

Creative SB sound card (not sure about drivers)
Running in 95 compat mode.
Patch installed.

Hmmm.... haven't heard of that one before. I know you said you've followed all the Tech Tips, but just to be certain...

1. You've defragged, right?

2. You've stopped all other non-essential processes, right?

3. You've made sure your virtual memory is fixed, right?

Now, for other options...

1. Have you tried Win98 compatibility mode? That behaves differently for me.

2. Does it crash immediately when entering the options screen, or does it take a bit?

3. What messages does it display?

4. Does it crash if you enter the screen immediately, after you've been in the game, or both?

Let's try those and see what we can get from that [img]smile.gif[/img]

Hi. I have a tech problem when i wear a "Stone of Clover". Then Wizards crash, they exit to Windows. What wrong with this amulet??
