Hi everyone, I'm getting ready to play a new game and I thought of putting a druid in it for some shapeshifting. I've never seen any parties round here have a shapeshifting druid in them, so I'm led to believe that they aren't exactly anything special, but being able to shapeshift to a water, fire, earth, and air elemental seem pretty cool. So what do you guys think on a shapeshifting druid? A go or no go?

In the original game, a druid is IMHO a go, I like them. True, clerics outshine druids in most departments, but they're still usefull for some tactics. Now, if you were to install teh Ease of Use Druid Rebalanceing the druids become a must! Being a red HalfDragon is great! And you get SPELLS!
Oh, and a simple trick with druids: low physical attributes, as they're all lost when shapeshifting(it's a set, not an add).

BoB, I believe that you had a quite good, simple pure aasimir build.
STR 10 DEX 10 CON 10 INT 18 WIS 20 CHA 12 Making for an effective caster who can on demand change into a powerful creature. Also, I haven't proved this, but I believe that monk levels will add your WIS modifier to your AC while shapechanged! Not sure how effective this is, and you need to be human or half elf to dodge an xp penalty, but it seems quite powerful. |

Welcome to the boards!!!
I wanted to put a comma there, but I didn't.. It should say :"Now, if you were to install the Ease of Use mod, the Druid Rebalanceing component is a must!" [ 02-08-2005, 12:47 PM: Message edited by: Bozos of Bones ]

Ahh, of course. Cheers.
Ive been reluctant to install that mod, would appear to upset the balance of the game and make the game to easy. OK, i just found i can install only the mods i want, so that will work. Thanks for the welcome Bob, ive been reading these threads for a few weeks and have learnt a lot about this great game, cheers all. Alan |
