Taken from USA Today today...

Quote:

Lawmaker uses obscenities to Veterans Affairs officials

Rep. Bob Filner, the acting top Democrat on the House Veterans Affairs Committee, appeared at a news briefing outside the VA building to criticize the agency's three-week delay in publicizing the burglary. "You guys f——- it up," Filner declared. "Stop covering your a— and figure it out."

{the officials} said they were embarrassed that reporters had to "witness a distinguished lawmaker act in such a reprehensible manner."

So.... with this being in regard to the theft of 26 million military personnel data records (and the fact that it took almost three weeks for them to report the theft), should these officials be ashamed of the Rep's comments, or ashamed of their own organization's actions?

Nice to see a plain speaking politician!

Are the Veterans Affairs people a government body or a charity?

Government body, shamrock. Not sure of what the exact structure is, but it's definitely a branch of the Federal government.

Do the officials expect us to be more offended by a guy dropping an f-bomb (and seriously, is the other one even considered a swear anymore? Watch network TV sometime), than the theft of what, 26 million people's private information?

Sounds like they're still trying to cover their a----s.
