Installation Prob

Help guys! I wanted to install Shadows in another computer and play a saved game there. Unfortunately when I started BGII the option panels (the one u click) is at the usual place but the words itself eg. Single Player, Multiplayer Quit etc are skewed to the left outside of the screen. Hence I don't know where to choose & what to click. This same discs were used to install it in the other computer & it did fine. I checked my directX and it is a version 8. Did the whole testing thing and it was ok. The videos & demos all played out fine.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this computer?

Check your resolutions, I can't think of anything else, sorry

Did you set the resolution under SoA options for one you hadn't used, before? It certainly sounds like SoA defaulted to a resolution mode that you don't normally use on your monitor--hence, it's not properly set. I can think of two solutions (if I've got the problem correct):

Choose a graphics resolution mode that you've used before.

Use your monitor controls to reset the video in SoA until it looks right. Your monitor should remember the settings, and only apply them to that specific resolution mode.

Hey! It worked! Thanks guys. I played Shadows until 3 AM today. Still sleepy!
