I have clicked on the 6 pine tree runes in the Northern Wilderness and need to know what to do next to get to the retrodungeon. I found a stone near the ruins and have tried to attach a bo and a monstrance with no results at all.....help!

A plain ordinary short staff should do the trick.

One other thing, if you can't find a short staff at the nearby merchants, Burz often has one back in the Monestary. There's no guarantee that he will, though. I found one in my first game -- since then I buy it from Burz right away to avoid any backtracking.

Priestly -- you might be out of luck now even if you DO get the short staff. It's my understanding that once all six runes have been activated, you HAVE to use the triggering weapon before leaving that map or else when you return and try to use it, the trigger no longer works and you are shut out of the dungeon for that game.

I could be wrong because I never did it myself without having the right weapon handy but that is what some other people have posted on this and other boards. Supposedly you can click up to five of the runes and leave the map without any problem but once that sixth one is activated you have to use the weapon THEN or lose access.
