I have reached the Tier of the Dead and noticed that there are several tombs that can be opened that contain treasure. My dilemna, would a party of good characters that is being lead by a Paladin and has a Dwarf, really loot the tombs of the dead?

You too huh? Yes in other areas, like the Vale of Shadows I could reconsile to the fact that these where centers of evil and that the items therein were destined for evil purposes and therefore it was my duty to liberate them.

Upper Dorn's Deep is differnet, these are not tombs of evil undead, nor is it a sanctuary for evil. These are the final resting places of dwarves, valant and good who died defending thier home AGAINST evil.

I had a real moral dilema too, I almost didn't touch anything, until I took a peek and say all blue (magic), then greed got me. There are some good items too.

So how do we honorable Paladins role play this one? Whenever I'm faced with a roleplaying aspect I can't resolve I try to fill in the gaps. Like saying to myself, "the noble drawves would WANT me to use thier items to fight the evil in thier land". Well, lame, yes, but how else does a Pally justify grave robbing?

This flaming sword just called out to my fighter. It spoke the ancient words of wisdom and strenght so compulsively there was no stopping the fighter. My paladin just wasn't fast enough to stop my fighter who had already plunged his sword deep into Malchon's stomach, tearing the flesh to create a lethal gap.
The battle was fast and furious, but a dark feeling hovered over the paladin. Could standing by his party be the will of his God. Or would he be punished and spend the rest of his life amending for his deeds as a fallen paladin? He prayed and waited for his jugdement as the fighter retrieved the sword from his victim.
Afterwards, the paladin and the dark elf fighter had a heavy discussion on morals and decent behavior. But the fighter never gave up his sword...

My paladin thinks she is in charge, but sometimes my thief just runs ahead and nicks stuff, even if it involves desecrating the tombs of the dead. What can you do?...

You too. My thief also had more items in his pack after going through the tombs then when he started. My Paladin questioned him and for a moment he forgot he was a gnome and though he was a kender. "How did that get in there. It must have fallen into my pack"
