Has anyone seen Torey's cogs?

I was able to pick up Torey Loremaster's quest on 15, but unable to find the cogs despite scouring the whole level and enlisting the help of two players who both had known them to be in the same room. I checked the forge, barrels & floor to no avail; no one was on when I logged in so I know it was a fresh server (and I've been back since to double check). Is this a bug? Is Torey messing with me?

The cogs should be in a barrel that destroys itself after it's opened. The barrel is supposed to spawn on the Actions Taken tab of the convo with him, not sure which line now, but if I remember correctly, it's when you accept the quest. With all the recent updates, maybe the WP got messed, or a tag/resref got shuffled.

Okay, I can confirm that he was in the right place so definite glitch. And it was all going so well up to then..well, apart from my very underpowered mid-20s level bard dying a lot, but you get what you deserve if you go to 15 at that level. Mea culpa.

Xavier has been carrying them around for a few months, does someone want them back? I've been looking for a Tory in the UK. Oh, that Torey! I'll bring them back to him. (sorry - a bad and allegedly untrue political joke for UK residents)

It does sound like a bug though. The location is correct, they've been found there before and you "create" them when the quest starts.

I've developed the perhaps bad habit of completing quests before initiating them, so this may have been the case; I'll have to check later as pesky clients seem to think I should provide services in exchange for their money.

I just tried the quest and had no problems.

If anyone needs a dress (sorry, traditional garb), just ask when you see me in Undermountain.

If you don't have the quest, the barrel won't be there. It's designed that way.

I think Toot was after a dress (although he may be a bit shy about saying so)
