Ok for some reason the page wont load for me, so all I have to say is this, firstly what model is it? Secondly, if the Geforce you are referring to is the 5950 or whatever then you are missing out. The new Geforce 6800ultra is by far the fastest GPU in the world, it isnt out in britain yet (I think only Japan actually) but it can kick some ass, playing any game with full AA and AF on full res with massive frame rates. On UT2003 it gets something like 170fps on full res!

Actually I know the fact that ATI is catching up to nVidia, but having learnt a good lesson from 3Dfx, I would rather stick to cards that are most compatible with majority of the games.
Of course many ATI fans will flame me for accusing ATI of not being compatible to games, but from many game developers' forum, there seems to be more post on "Graphic problem with ATI..." compared to "Graphic problems with nVidia..." The last thing I want is to load up new games and then proceed to download latest driver from X manufacturer or sometimes download driver version x.xx from the manufacturer's website. Thanks but no thanks. [Added] Since the launch of the new Geforce 6800, nVidia has gain a momentary adavtage over ATI in term of performance; but this is an ever going war and no one is the clear winner until the last one standing, in the case of Creative vs Aureal. But then who knows if there are parties waiting to topple (or die trying) Creative later on? Right now, I am putting my money on the safest horse, it may not be the fastest but it will get me home safely. If one day ATI proved that it could be more compatible than nVidia, I would probably switch to ATI too. [ 05-05-2004, 01:53 PM: Message edited by: Paladin2000 ]

I am a proud owner of an ATI card, and I must say that I never had any REAL compatibility problem. Only once there was an issue with corrupted textures in Need 4 speed, but it was promptly resolved by a patch in the game, not in the video driver. I would buy another ATI, if I had the money...
Maybe the situation with ATI isn't as bad as you portray it, Paladin.

You may be right, B_part. After all, I only used nVidia cards since my bad experience with 3Dfx.
Anyway, check out ATI's newest winner. If things keeps looking up for ATI, guess which card I am having for my next upgrade? [Added] This is a nice parody of GeForce 6800 vs. Radeon X800 from BBspot [ 05-07-2004, 05:26 AM: Message edited by: Paladin2000 ]

I'm drooling...
And the parody is real funny...I love geek humor. Anyway, whichever is the temporary winner in this battle, video cards are getting better and better, and a 9800 pro or its NVidia equivalent are now sold at reasonable prices... and if you consider that my old Radeon 8500 can still guarantee a decent performance in most games, chances are that a bargain price 9800 will still be a good choice for a long time on...

I am considering a cheap upgrade from my old Geforce 2MX 400. Since I don't want to spend that much, my choice narrows down to either GeForce FX5200 or ATI Radeon 9600SE, I wonder if anyone have any recommendations between the two?
