My hard-drive crashed recently and I lost almost everything. I did manage to back-up the "save" folder, which includes the subfolders "characters", "games", and "net". However restoring these folders did not work. I still can't get my character and saved games back. Is there a crack out there that would allow me to restore saved informations? Where can I go to download developed characters to start over again?

If you have all that, you should be able to recover you chars by loading a saved game and exporting. I suspect that the problem has arisen due to the fact that when you reformatted, you called your computer by another name (the one found in "identities" under properties of Network Neighbourhood in Win98 )

Try to either change this identity to the one you had before the reformat or try DSbackup which is a prog designed to deal with this problem. Unfortunately, I don't have a link to it...........

My bad just go here

You're right about the changed computer identity.
DSbackup worked great to fix that problem.
I was able to recover all my games and characters!
Now how can I tell which version is my game?

Thanks
